If you're on a TV make sure it's set to game mode. Could be picture lag.

100% on not caring any more. You cannot play this game to compete. You simply cannot. What I’ve found to be the best solution is to not care as well, not about anything.
I had most of the cards for collections, Trout, Arenado and so on. Then it hit me. Why would I think for one second that improving my team to all 99s would help in the slightest little bit? That’s crazy. It’s not the cards, the game is fundamentally broken and pretty laughable. Mickey Mantle will not change that in any way, shape or form. Following on from that thought process, I realised it applied to everything in the game. Now, I laugh. I laugh a lot and post trolly jokey comments on TSN instead of angry frustrated comments. I don’t care about my team composition, I don’t care about my garbage batting average, I don’t care about my ERA, I don’t congratulate myself for wins, nor berate myself for losses. I often have tears of laughter rolling down my cheeks as I splutter into my coffee over a farcical animation or ridiculous hit feedback result. It’s really all you can do at this point, it is. I was streaming for a buddy last night and we were just literally like WTF is this game even? No point getting angry, or asking for patches, it is what it is.
On the subject of asking for patches, I’m done with that too. I used to check here every day to see if there was a patch coming out that would resolve all the issues. After two or three updates, I realised they were doing practically nothing to improve the state of the game, so even if there was a patch released, it wasn’t worth worrying about anyway. So I gave up caring about patches too!
Well said. By chance did you have the game 3 days early from pre-ordering? That was the most fun I have had with a release of MLBTS since 16. Just wondering your thoughts if you did.
I did. The hitting has been buns ever since

I had a blast those first few days playing Conquest on All Star but I get your take on the placebo effect. I think SDS pulled the plug too early though on hitting and should have gathered more data. I personally don’t think hitting is so broken as much as the timing window is.
Yes, but when you’re playing on veteran, the timing window could still be broken. It’s just easier to overcome it with a bigger swing timing window, not to mention larger PCI, at that level. It really becomes apparent as you move up. That said, per the patch notes for 1.04 there is an ominously ambiguous entry that simply said “increase to hitting difficulty in diamond dynasty.” That’s all we have in the way of solid information to go on, how they achieved this has been left open to debate, although swing timing window adjustments almost certainly were a factor.
As usual, we’re not privy to any actual breakdown of the information and it’s pretty clear to anyone who’s been around this franchise for more than a year or so that SDS are happy to take advantage of the fact we are left in the dark about the intended workings of in game features and mechanics. Indeed, the instructions for things such as hitting in game are devoid of any in depth information about the nuances of play and again, this is an intentional ploy on behalf of the developers. If you never explicitly state that performing a certain action in game will result in a specified outcome, how can anyone call you out on the game not working as intended? Nobody has any idea what the true intent behind anything is, it’s all left down to the user to interpret and assume.
As a new player just starting out in Diamond Dynasty this year, where would you go to find this information, or indeed explanations of how H/9 for a pitcher plays against contact for a hitter, or to find out if HR/9 is a simulation only stat this year or not, or anything at all other than “push X for a normal swing, Square for a power swing and O for a contact swing”? As I said this is a very deliberate and disingenuous strategy deployed by a company that doesn’t feel they have any accountability to their loyal and paying customers who support the product year after year.A year or two ago, I was constantly labelled a SDS fanboy and a scrub on this forum, because I enjoyed the game, although I struggled to succeed and supported the team who made it possible to play PS4 baseball every year. I enjoyed watching the guys on stream and felt they did a good job engaging with the players. My opinion has changed somewhat since then, because I’ve seen the community ask for the exact same things year after year in terms of gameplay and here we still are. Content has been great except for ‘18 though and it’s really improved in leaps and bounds. Gameplay, not so much.

Brah call of duty is trash, I don’t know how it’s actually doing the sales it is. it is by far the worst boots on the ground game they have made. Maps suck. Too much camping and poor spawns.
It’s like this game though, a few tweaks and it would be great. Fix hitting, fix fielding ( again) and better pitch reward and this game is great. -

You must not play cod....poor hit detection, shoot first die first, booty spawns ... that’s all programming

Actually I’ve been playing more COD than the show. I play war zone. Yes, Multiplayer had [censored] spawns. Shoot first die first is because you can’t aim well or had bad guns. Never had problems. At least when I aim at someone, it’s not a foot away from them. Head shot goes down on 2 hits. Good/squared up has negative EV than pitch speed. When it comes down to actual gameplay, programming is night and day.

Stop changing things would be my first tip. Pick one camera and stick with it. Second tip is to find what works for you at the plate when batting. These guys that post these tips are generally top players that get to most balls, regardless of where they start their pci. Thirdly, I would suggest a patient approach, don't swing for the fences on every ball, look for the pitches that catch too much of the plate.
Lastly, and this something I noticed in my own play the other day, keep your hands relaxed. I found that I was gripping too tightly and when I went to hit the button, I was jerking the controller, therefore, I was ending up with bad pci placement. Without thinking I was pushing forward when I did, making my pci drop.
I'm not a great player, so you can take all of that with a grain of salt, if you wish.
First paragraph should be on a post-it next to every PS4
Worst thing I did was try to change to strike zone view from fish eye and to directional from zone hitting just because of anecdotals.
Think I lasted about 100 pitches on each before I decided they weren’t worth the trouble. The problem is my impulsiveness not the interface.
Also, does anybody else find hitting in 20 a crisper and more satisfying experience than in 19? Presently I’ve only played custom league games. No ranked seasons, batoru rowaiaru or events for me, thanks.
No disrespect but worst thing you can do is give hitting tips for online players when you don't play online. I hear custom leagues hitting is alot better than ranked. Its a whole different experience.
If you are referring to me, then, I do play online and having a winning record. This is not my main account. I don't post with it. So yes, it is disrespectful, especially since I tried to offer some reasonably solid advice.

Eh don't even remember who it was honestly, maybe it was you and you edited your post but there was literally a post where they guy said only plays custom league, which is a whole lot different from DD hitting.

Cod has a lot of the same BS dude. Lol. Go on the cod forums and they look a lot like the shows Forums right now early on. I can post 100 articles of complaints about game play. Camping, how OP the 725 and the claymore were early on in the game. How the meta in war zone right now is thermal snipers and RPGs. How OP vehicles are. Your argument just doesn’t hold any water here. Shooting someone first and them turning around and killing you is also a huge complaint. Pick your poison. There is no perfect online experience in gaming. Gamers love to complain.

Funny you said early on. Guess those issues were fixed? What early messes has SDS fixed? 725 was a mess and fixed it quickly. SDS has tried and failed to fix a homerun banner 3 times...a banner. It’s the fact COD can fix things and SDS can’t. SDS should throw money around for better programmers. I’ll even take less content for it to happen.

You’re talking about a way smaller studio with far less coders and programmers lol with smaller servers. It doesn’t make sense. Plus you’re grasping for straws with “early on”; the cod forums are just as bad now. I was just pin pointing some of the ones I remember since I no longer play it or use the site. There isn’t a perfect online gaming experience. Fortnite, Apex, Cod, Halo, madden whatever they all have people crying on forums for fixes.
