I catalogued every swing. It's ridiculous. It's not skill. I entered 9-15 with all lefties/switch (Gallo, Wander, Devers, Ohtani, Santana, etc.) (except Trout) against Schmidt. Unless noted in parantheses, the swing was an out.

    Early/ok, good/squared, very late/popped, early/chopped, early/chopped, late/ok, PP liner (2B), Good/squared (HR), PP Liner (2B), Good/squared, PP grounder, early/chopped, good/squared, good/ok, good/ok (1B), BB, good/okay, good/okay, BB, good/good (double play), PP liner (HR), early/ok, good/good (1B), good/weak (Fielder's choice), good/good

So now it's 15-15, men on 1st and 3rd, 3 outs to go. I hit a good/good ground ball right at the 3B. My man on 3rd doesn't run, so I hold L1. Probably should have just eaten the double play. But, I also think in a game winning situation, man on 3rd needs to run on a ground ball automatically. But anyway, I ground into the double play, but with the delayed baserunning my man on 3rd gets gunned at home (5-4-3-2-6 TP for those scoring at home).

So is it skill? I have this stuff happen a lot. 3 good/squared outs. 1 PP out. 1 good/good out, 1 good/good double play, 1 good/good triple play. That's me not having skill? That's 10 outs on good/good or better, in a 9-15 showdown.

Nobody cares, but I just needed to vent frustration. Been having tons of showdowns like this last few days.

I always put my fastest bench player on that last run. Could be a 60 overall with 98 speed and I could be pulling Mickey mantle out to do it, but once that winning run hits second I pinch run to avoid any of that

I do the same. Always 2-3 speedsters to either score the SF or try and steal a base, neglect a dp

Not saying it wasn't BS, but if the guy on 3rd took off on contact the 3B woulda thrown home and gotten the out, and maybe out at 1st with a slow batter

Bigger factor is how many pitches did you see?

Yeah, I suck and just beat it. I think you have to step away when you are getting down to the last few outs. Also always have a speedy guy on the bench. You know the AI is going to cheat.

Take a deep breath every once in a while to calm down, that is what I do.

Since it's so hard to steal now I wait till I have the winning run on 2nd to use the fast pinch runner.

Very risky to attempt to steal 2nd and get thrown out. Game over.

To be fair, the problem was probably the 12 times your contact result was worse than good/good.

You had a .667 average and 2.000 slug on PPs. Can’t really ask for more than that. You got unlucky on Good/Squared, but that happens when your sample size is 3.

Not exactly sure; high 80s/low 90s. But when I have 3 PPs and 3 good/squareds in 7 swing results, I certainly expect more than 2 runs.

I mean I just posted the result; all but one of those were patented SDS good "okay;" one was legit okay. Same with good "good."

I also probably wouldn't complain if it was 0-15; it was 9-15 with some of the premiere cards in the game.

I was fairly aggressive in the beginning, I like to get the confidence down with a few early knocks. I got fairly more passive in the end, working full/5+ pitch counts.

I rarely will attempt to “actually” steal a bag unless I’ve got Cobb or Mondesi and have a 2-0, 3-0 count.

I will however almost always send my runners on a full count pitch. I rarely ever strike out and got out of a dp so often just doing this

Confidence based on hit results fluctuates. You can pop them early but if you get in a rut it all comes back. Pitch count is the only guaranteed method to reduce confidence.

Even if I'm going in with 9+ runs I'm taking to 2 strikes first time through the lineup.

Best advice is to be patient and be conservative on the base paths.

They don’t want anybody farming any mode for xp, stars, or stubs. I’ve never understood why game developers don’t want their player bases to thrive. I really like all the SDS guys, and I truly don’t want to see them lumped into the greedy categories, but it’s just not looking so great for them this month with some of their moves and choices. The lack of communication compared to previous years isn’t helping them. Hopefully it all turns around soon in some positive way. It’s never a great idea PR-wise to lump nerfs in with minor gameplay patches. I think they should’ve fixed the gameplay and then followed with any nerfs. Acceptance levels would’ve been way higher.

I did the same thing yesterday, I pulled FOF Turner after he hit a double and put in some random bronze 2nd baseman form the Diamondbacks who is 99/99...he stole third and with 2 outs he took home on a sac fly
