Update 1.10 Discussion

Another update and disapppointgly not much done to make starters as relievers an "emergency" decision.
Here is what needs to be done. If a started is brought in as a reliever, he should be double taxed on stamina for every pitch. If the starter was not at full rest when put into the game, there should be a 1 game penalty where that starter recieves no stamina recouperation. Penalties for pitching gassed should be steeper, and you should hit red stamina sooner say 20% as opposed to the 10-15 it's at now. Putting a starter in as a reliever should be an emergency extra innings decision, not the META.

I agree with this why even have a good bullpen if you can use starters

Cant believe they changed double points in MTO. There is no point to the mode anymore.
They had to fix it. Can't let us get the rewards too easy, otherwise people won't spend money on stubs to get other cards.

Victor can we get any information on the good/okay hitting feedback. I have not read anything from sds that has talked about this. I just would like to know what is the plan with hitting, and if it is being planned to tweak or to stay where it is?
I think hitting is playing exactly how they want it to which is why we never hear anything regarding it.
Yep, been saying all along this is intentional. Also been saying this studio needs some competition on the market bc they wouldn't pull non-sense like this week to week
It's just insane how transparent they are about fielding being broken, but not one thing has been said about the good okays after the day 1 patch. I just want some clarity as if the game is going to be this way all year or not.

They can't even get coding to work for fielders and you want them to implant code to determine how often a pitcher has come into a game?
The easier solution is to either go back to Starter Roulette or get rid of the option of having a starter come in as a reliever.

This patch was just intended to punish their player base and force them into buying stubs, pure and simple. They patched out any method that made gaining XP or rewards quicker but didn't touch the poor game play. SDS's priorities are clear.
Patching retro mode isn't a big deal. It's a little annoying, but it was an exploit. I knew that one was coming eventually.
Fixing the stealing glitch hurts, but only because you purposely made showdown harder than it needs to be. You guys can tweek the sliders to purposely make showdown harder, but patch the one thing that helps us? Why don't you just make showdown fair? There would be no need for the steal glitch if they were.
MTO double points was the only thing that made MTO worth doing. People actually played this mode more because it actually felt rewarding.
HR Derby patch was the most unnecessary of them all. It wasn't an exploit. It was just playing the game legitimately. If someone want to mindlessly play a mode that you put in the game, then they should be able to.
EDIT - And of course a stub sale just dropped.
-
You can still play HRD all you want, they didn't remove it.

thanks for taking out the trash in this thread SDS.
and thanks for cleaning up the player programs page with this patch. that one is much appreciated!
(see - i can be positive, Dad)

Feedback is appreciated, but keep it clean.

Hey devs, I just wanted to give some feedback. I totally understand patching exploits that were hurting the integrity of the game. The only thing I don't get though is reducing MTO points to its original state. That was the first time in MTO's entire "lifespan" that the mode incentivized players to actually play the mode. Now, MTO is back to being irrelevant again to almost every player. I would recommend increasing the MTO point reward system to not 2x as much, but maybe 1.5x as much. This would give casual players more options to gain TA points without suffering through stage 1 showdown's.
Also, on the point of showdowns, I believe the stage 2 showdowns are perfectly fine at the moment. However, if you're going to take away MTO double points, why not make stage 1 showdowns the same difficulty as stage 2? As it stands, stage 1 is incredibly difficult and extremely frustrating for the casual player. If you guys lowered the difficulty of stage 1 to stage 2's level, I think a lot of the negativity you guys are seeing as a result of this patch would go away. Anyways, I hope someone took the time to read this through, thanks guys.

The home run banner sticking around is not fixed consistently, I'm still seeing it hang around about half the time so far. Can we just remove it entirely at this point?

Hahahahaha wow three attempts at fixing it and they still failed. It’s just comical at this point

Just played two RS games and the errors were so bad in fielding. Might be worst TBH. Balls rolling right through my OFers feet and to the wall, when they made no effort to even put their glove down. Then guy gets caught between 3d and home, and decides to just go home where my pitcher is just sitting with the ball waiting for him, but never applies the tag. Like he never even tried to tag him, it wasn’t a close play at all, the ball was there way ahead of time. He takes the lead off of that. Then top 9th 2 outs down by 1 with a man on 2nd, and I hit a routine fly ball to center to end the game and his player just misses it. Camped under it but never locked on I guess, so I tied it. Whole game was controlled by fielding errors.
-
I’m not concerned about any of the XP exploits that were removed, I’m diamond 33 and I haven’t used any of them. We get enough XP from simply playing, so can we stop complaining about something being removed that wasn’t intended to be present in the first place? Everyone had time to cheat some extra XP out of it, if that was your choice to do so.
-
Why are we complaining about them getting rid of something that wasn't supposed to be in the game in the first place? The HRD XP exploit and the MTO "double points" were obviously bugs and not intentional, so they got rid of it. Seems pretty straightforward to me.

Agreed and you should also be able to use your starting pitchers as PH’s in those extra inning games without him being automatically sent to the mound. Example - I was in the 12th inning, my bench was depleted ... bases juiced and my reliever comes up, and we all know RP’s can’t do much at the plate .. so I PH for him with my best bunting SP, safety squeeze works, but then they send him to the mound ice cold and nothing I could do about it except nurse him through 3 batters so I could take him out..... ended up winning but dang ... lol

Just something for SDS to consider. I would leave the MTO at double points, just a suggestion.
I played it once, before the double points kicked in, and I was considering doing it again with a better reward (double points), but now, no way. The time invested for the rewards is simply not worth it.
Just my opinion, but it is a game mode I won't be touching ever again, so I guess it doesn't really matter.
Just think, all the hours the devs put in to make this mode. Now nobody wants to play it. Sounds like poor management.

I appreciate the QOL addition of adding the percent completion to the TA icons. I asked back in March and you guys came through. Thanks a million!!
I thought the 2x points for MTO were here to stay though as it brought many people to the game mode. And considering how long it takes, I think a possible bump to the total points earned should be considered in the future (with the coming of Stage 3 in a month or 2).
