Update 1.10 Discussion

Strange that the HRD XP is being nerfed, that XP has been the same for years +25XP per Home Run. However there might be a reason why people have more time to play that mode this year, and get all that XP.
The MTO points 'bug' actually seemed like a goodwill gesture from SDS given the state of the actual gameplay within DD, but alas not. There is now little reason to continue playing that mode given that doing it with the same team more than once seems dull as you'll make the same player moves each time. Disappointing.

This was my first reaction. Being an offline player I was actually enjoying the game for a little bit there. It was only a matter of time before they took it away as they have gradually done to offline players since removing grinds.

I wish they left mto points alone. Even with double points it took forever to get a TA done. Especially the teams still in stage 1. It already was a massive grind now it just doesn't seem worth the time.
Maybe it could be double points for stage 1 and regular points for stage 2?

Thank you @sds for continuing to try to fix the gameplay. Im excited to try out the changes on d. Hoping the infield starts to play smoother. I think last update did a good job addressing alot of issues in the outfield and the game definitely plays better since last patch.

Would be really cool if they could make it so you always got a xp reward when you level up. I'm currently lvl 84 diamond and maybe have received the xp reward card 20 times. I know it's usually a useless common, but it would be nice. Showdown seems to be the worst for not giving any reward when you level up.

Oof. Yeah, I'm not thrilled about the MTO 'fix.' That goes back to being a heck of a grind now. I still only have one done there goes the chance of realistically completing the rest in any kind of reasonable time frame. Especially since I'm an 'essential' employee, eh? Those were fun little grinds, but man, just doesn't seem worth it now.

Victor can we get any information on the good/okay hitting feedback. I have not read anything from sds that has talked about this. I just would like to know what is the plan with hitting, and if it is being planned to tweak or to stay where it is?

Disappointed. I’m 2 innings into my first game post patch, home run banner stayed stuck on display and trout just made a horrific error. Clip to follow after I’ve finished getting my behind kicked in this game.

When there is so much negativity about a game for weeks, it’s suicide to start taking away beneficial things from the gamers that have stuck with it, even if it’s a glitch that only a few were using. I didn’t even know the MTO points exploit was a thing. I knew people were using HRD to get XP and points, but it was just too boring for me to do. Hasn’t it always awarded 25 xP per homer though? Bottomline is that until a game is running smoothly, you shouldn’t take away Goodwill. If anything, Goodwill should be added to reward the loyal consumers of a product. It’s a bad look when developers are quick to nerf things that help but slow to fix actual problems.

so you guys gonna take the cards/ affinity from people who did mto? if I knew 1 run on allstar gets a future star I would have been doing nothing but that. playing since 17 and have just about had enough of this fuckin bull [censored]

Fix the Good-okay, hitting in general, to make it less rng and more skill based. Sure it’s baseball, RNG is part of the game, but this year it is worst than ever before.

Why do they change hitting on every patch ? One patch you cant score more than 3 runs in 3 innings against cpu, one patch after you score 10 runs... Then they patch again and you're back to the low scoring games... And the cycle goes on

I think hitting is playing exactly how they want it to which is why we never hear anything regarding it.

Yep, been saying all along this is intentional. Also been saying this studio needs some competition on the market bc they wouldn't pull non-sense like this week to week

@Victor_SDS where's the logic in changing the way a game mode rewards a player, as you've done with HR derby?
you designed a game to reward in a certain way. if someone wants to play the mode for hours in a day, that's their choice as a consumer of your product. its simple greed for you to change the reward terms for the users. what a shame.

Honestly that one looks like its on you. You took 2 steps forward as the ball was coming down which caused you to miss it
