It could but mostly will bite my opponent in the azz first. There’s a reason most managers go righty/lefty throughout the lineup when possible

Yea, been flirting with building an all switch hitting lineup just to take advantage of this.

There is also a reason why NO manager ever brings in a new pitcher after the 1st inning and why EVERY manager builds a lineup based on who is pitching

you have a lot of players that can bit both, Eddie Matthews has a great power against both types

Counsell pulled Miley after the first batter in the link above. So, some managers evidently *do exactly that.

I guess you never heard of the rays using an opener instead of a starter and pulling him after the first inning. They do this because some lineups are heavy at the top with righties or lefties and figure why not take advantage of the matchup now when it’s 0-0 instead of later in the game when it might not matter anymore.

Cool...now lets compared 1 time event to every game where the manager built the lineup based on the pitcher. Want to guess which happens more?

No I have, but using extreme examples never proves a point. I can use an example of a manager bringing in a first baseman to pitch and getting 3 outs but that doesn't mean that is better than using actual pitchers.

So you claimed NO manager does it, although there was a link already in the thread showing that it happens, and I'm the asshole?

Never said you were an asshole, just said your 1 example is meaningless. But then again I guess I am an asshole for daring to ask if anyone wished this game was more realistic or hell if they went back to what they used to do with DD. The first year or 2 of DD you used to have specific lineups and you were told what handed the pitcher was

It’s not an extreme example when a team does it dozens of times in one season (don’t know any team that used a first baseman DOZENS of times) and other teams start to follow suit and use it as well.

You literally said most manager go righty/lefty when building a lineup in response to my comment...that is 100% wrong. All managers build their lineups based on who they are facing. Stop trolling and using extremes to prove your moronic point. Leave this to adults who want to actually contribute to the conversation

dozens of times for 1 team in an 162 game season...so that is the very definition of the word extreme example.

Does anyone wish you can have a lineup based on what handed the opposing pitcher is so when you play online you can play to your strength and know ahead of time?
no because everyone would have nine Lefty batters versus a right-handed pitcher and 9 righty hitters versus a left-handed pitcher. It would be stupid and unrealistic even though in real baseball you know the pitcher ahead of the game.
The lineups would be according to your active roster not all cards available.

Back when the mode first started you used to know what pitcher you would face before setting your lineup. It was a great idea that they abandoned for no reason. They need to implement that and also implement a stamina meter for the full team, that way you cant play your god squad over and over and over again

See there you go misquoting me just to prove your point. I said they do that when possible. Not all teams have the ability or quality to do that.
You have to result to insults and extremist words (every, all, ever...etc) because you know no one will agree with you based purely on facts.
Your original idea was a bad one and it wasn’t the first time someone has thought of it probably won’t be the last neither. You have been proven wrong so many times in this thread it’s ridiculous but you wanna go down swinging I can respect that.

I concur. It would be nice for ranked season to play similar to franchise where guys need days off. Not only would this add variety but it might actually make SDS some more of their much loved stub money.
-
This is why I try to keep my lineup 4 LHB and 4 RHB, but it would be nice to be able to automatically play Didi against RHP and Hanley against LHP etc.
