Trouts price

I’ve saved up 400k and want to buy Trout but his price just keeps going up and up. Will his price go down or should I just buy him now?

It will go up more before it goes down most likely, get it now and enjoy the game

He has been steadily going up since mid April. I don’t see him going down anytime soon. Last few years he was cheaper then usual he’s almost back to where he was in 17. Last I looked this morning he was sitting at 317k. Expect him to go up a little more with the live series event starting today also.

Struggled with this myself and just bit that bullet - I’ve had over 400k for a while, and just kept watching his price creep up (I distinctly remember seeing him around 285k and thought “once he gets back under 280, I’ll jump” - not so much). Finally paid 300k for him yesterday...it sucks, but I don’t regret it.
I think he’ll go down in the long run (like, July), but I think a big stub sale is coming, and he’ll go up to an absurd price when that happens. There’s just not a ton to spend stubs on right now, so people are doing the collections...and he’s obviously the gatekeeper.
Buy him if you want him (I just wouldn’t lock him in until you are 100% committed to the collection)

How? If you did fotf and FS, not to mention just playing , you would easily have 200k+. Did you spend a lot on cards or packs?

Some flipping, but mostly grinding and selling any cards you don’t need. I’m level 8 gold, so you just kind of organically acquire stubs as you roll through FOTF, showdowns, etc. I’m also NMS (almost - bought the $100 edition, but that’s it), and have actually had trash pack luck (only diamond pull was Altuve).
Be honest with yourself about cards that aren’t part of your future for more than a week or so - like Kopech...I loved him, but knew A) his price would drop and B) I wouldn’t still be using him by mid May...so I sold him when he was still going for like 25k (and I bought him during the flash sale for about 20k).
If you don’t need a card for a collection (and even then - focus and prioritize your collections), or don’t think he will still be on your team in a month, sell when the market is high. I feel like people just sort of hold on to cards...don’t do that. Sell the cards that need to be sold to work toward the cards you need long term.

I spent about 7k a day on packs. I was trying to pull diamonds. Pulled a couple but I never made a profit. Thanks. I'll never do that again. Not worth it.

I’m at 400k with nms and a 93 overall team. If you hardly buy packs and just grind for the free packs in conquest etc. you’ll get there. I also sell off all the silvers and golds I pull.

I finished all the conquests so I just do BR and some showdown.

[censored] brother, that’s alot per day. I’ve maybe bought 12 to 20 packs this year so far.. just go for packs they give you. If you flip a bunch then yeah have at it. I’ve made some where between 700K to 750k in stubs as of now. I’ve never pulled a diamond from a pack I’ve bought, but pulled a handful from packs I’ve gotten for free. Buy low during the week, sell high over the weekend. Just watch out for when new stuff gets released.

Lucky for me, I pulled him from a 2nd Inning reward and have had the numerous benefits he brings to my team since. Not only is he my most productive hitter with guys like Reggie Jackson (99), Hanley Ramirez (92), Carlos Gonzalez (90), and Chipper Jones (94) but he has yet to make a mistake defensively in center field for me.
Before I pulled him, I was actually saving up to get him. He is more than worth the price-tag, in my opinion, as there just isn't another card that provides the benefits and overall impact he does. The fact that you'll also get closer to unlocking collection rewards like Billy Wagner, Roberto Alomar, and Craig Biggio is just the cherry on top.

Do you know about flipping? Even if you just do it a little bit each time you play, you'll see your Stub totals increase by quite a bit. I just started to last week and it has been unreal how little work you can do to make a pretty decent amount of Stubs. I make like 20-30K a day now when I do it and I wouldn't say I spend longer than 20 minutes in the menus. You just have to know what cards sell for and pick your spots.
Oh, and the best piece of advice anyone could have given me when I first started: all profit is good profit, no matter how little it may seem at first.
