Unless you can make World Series, what is the point of RS?
-
I knew my last game was doomed from the start. First pitch I throw a sinker low in the strike zone only for it to hang and get smacked for a hit and then the ball proceeds to get bobbled by trout in center field allowing dude to get to second. Awesome start! I knew it was over at that moment. Didn't get my first hit til the 8th. Never mind the multiple walks I took. They immediately uned up in double play after double play, regardless of pci placement relative to the ball. But I digress.
The rewards are trash for the frustration you have to endure. Facing Kluber over and over is asinine. I just got 1 hit by him where everything I put the pci on was either a double play, a warning track sally, or just a floater that my grandma could get to. Meanwhile my opponent dinks and bloops every hit under the sun no matter who I have on the mound.
I'm stuck in AS hell. I can't even sniff CS. But even by some miracle I get there, is it really worth the 1200 in stubs I'd get from the gold player reward?
Grinding showdowns is getting old real quick. I have no problem destroying pitchers in Event games but once I get in RS my superstar team takes the month off. Ugh!

yea Orioles and Tiger fans

These 2 at-bats were how the entire game went. Yay!

To play the game.

Ball on top of the wall is hilarious!

To change it up. I never even go for World Series. Could probably get there I’m at like 690 right now. But sometimes I get bored and just wanna jump online to play with my team. But it’s not really that fun.

To play the game.
But usually there is a goal in mind that keeps you going. Such as an event, where if you play long enough you will get the reward. Not even remotely true in RS. Besides there are so many other modes to play if you just wana play to play.

I am a simple man. I love baseball and collecting cards, so I play DD h2h. Vs CPU doesn't do it for me, if I had the option however I'd play OFM over anything else.

The rng on top of the simulation code has made the game very frustrating. I don’t believe players want arcade Slugfest type of gameplay but tone down the simulation and design a hitting system free of pure rng and you’ll have a fun game to play.

But the problem is, player stats are rng, power, contact etc, it's all part of the RNG system. you can never completely be rid of RNG

For fun, it’s fun

Yea but you can feel it in this game too much. The control just isn’t with you. You watch a dude flail around for 3 innings, striking out 7 times and looking terrible while doing it. Meanwhile you scrape a couple of hits together. Some good okays here and there. And then bam you put up a couple 2 run shots and go up 4. Next inning this same dude all of a sudden can hit. Why is that? Pitcher stamina is fine, pitcher confidence is sky high. But this same dude you were pretty sure was clinically blind start slugging homeruns to get it to 4-3. Then he goes back to flailing until you build the lead again.

I get that, I never said that the amount we have now is good, it's not, there is too much RNG.
But he said be "free of pure rng", which is what my comment was addressing.

Playing against other teams online is kind of the whole point of DD to me. I don’t really see how building an ultimate team to play vs the cpu would hold any appeal.
It’s a shame that so much of the control has been taken out of the player’s hand.

That’s true. I don’t know, maybe allow perfect hits to always result in a hit (type of hit would be determined by the type of batter, Power/Contact). Good -Squared would get a 90% chance of resulting in a hit. Good - Good 70% etc. etc.
Basically just give the type of hits a % and a center pci hit should never result in OK contact. Hopefully they fix/improve that.
-
I would usualy say "for the fun of playing a game of baseball." It's been very difficult to enjoy this year so far tho. I realy hope they fix the pitching.
-
Because there isn’t another mode where I can use my DD cards to build a team and play a nine inning baseball game against another human with anything at stake. Without RS this game would just be 3 inning slugfest games at shippet, either with a drafted team of cards that I don’t own, or a restricted line up of cards I do own, with pitchers coming in exhausted after one pitch to inflate offense and relievers being forced to face three batters with enough stamina to throw two pitches. They didn’t give us anything else to play. That’s why RS.
-
Just throwing this out there. What would people think of a game mode based like RS and ratings where you can wager a set amount of stubs per game. Cap it based on which divison you are in and gives peeps something to play for. Just a thought

RS is good for doing the online missions that they link to innings programs. I'm not good enough to make the higher ranks so I don't play it much otherwise. Really hoping that I can use Bob Gibson's breakout in this next event
