Update 1.10 Discussion

@Victor_SDS I know this is not a glaring issue, but I have submitted multiple feedback reports on this matter. The Under Armour compression sleeve appears on every single live-series player and some flashbacks that should have the Nike compression sleeve equipped to match the rest of their equipment. In example some of the players like Gary Sanchez, Cody Bellinger, POTM Didi, the list goes on... I hope this can be updated, thank you!

These sinkers are out of hand. They look like a breaking ball then zoom to the plate 150 mph.. I can be very late on 95 sink then the very next pitch be early on 99mph fastball. it's like you're at a disadvantage not using a sinker ball pitcher.

Have you tried check swinging at them?

So after having enough time to play with the new patch and not rush to judgment i havent noticed as big a difference in 1.10 then i did in 1.09.
Outfield is definitely better but anything hard hit is still causing problems, hard hit balls when my guy has to move directly side to side sometimes he makes no effort at the ball and it goes all the way to the wall and anything near the walls still causes problems with locking on to ball properly or picking up ball near the wall. Also outfielders need to throw with more urgency to the cutoff, cutoff throws always feel like they are casual even when 99 speed ricky is running the bases on a ball to gap.
Infielders are the major problem now more then anything for me. Playing a RS game last night my opponent at almost every single ball bobbled by his infielders, not an exaggeration but actually every ball, slow rollers, sharply hit balls, and everything in between. It helped me out but i can only imagine my opponent was losing his mind. No matter what a players rating are on d they are still pro baseball players, routine plays should be routine. Also infielders need to play with more speed and urgency.
In general defense needs to be tuned so players play quicker(not faster, quicker) and with more urgency, most defensive players play like its a casual sunday beer league instead of highly paid professionals.
EDIT: baserunning. Forgot to put this in originally. Lots of errors baserunning produced by the "assist". It feels very different from past years, players feel less responsive to commands causing me to hold the buttons longer or pressing multiple times. Also players over running bases and not able to turn around and get back on time, usually happens rounding 2nd base to 3rd, if u wait too long to make a decision u get stuck in no mans land and thrown out, i just want to round the base a step or 2 and be able to get back like irl.
More responsiveness from controller input on players would help. I would like it if holding L1 made a player run to next available base, not advance 2 or more. Example: if i have runner on first and ball is hit to outfield i should hold L1 down but when i release it my player should stop at next available base, if i let go of trigger before 2nd base i should stop at 2nd, if i hold past 2nd base then he should go to 3rd. I use the analog stick and base button method for when i want a player to advance multiple bases ie. 1st to home.
I appreciate the forum as a way to communicate problems and offer feedback. I understand not everything can be addressed instantly and feel the updates have generally improved gameplay and look forward to the future patches so this game can play to its full potential.
Thank you for your time reading this.

The home run banner sticking around is not fixed consistently, I'm still seeing it hang around about half the time so far. Can we just remove it entirely at this point?
If you let the player cross the plate and high five his teammate after the HR the banner will disappear every time (in my experience).

Yup that’s what I do. Or just pause real quick.

After patch 1.10 I had an incident where a ball was hit to mickey mantle in deep right center with runners on 1st and 2nd. Mick fielded the ball on one hop ,making an outstanding backhanded grab. When I tried to throw to the cut off man he wouldn't throw the ball. I tried 3b....nope, no throw,....I tried to throw home.....nope no throw. Realizing that he wouldn't throw I unsuccessfully tried to run the ball to home but, (yep! You guessed it) my opponent was rewarded with a 3 run inside the park homerun. Would you guys please give Mickey 150 speed so I might be able to beat the runner home next time?
-
I had my catcher freeze in place like that. Wouldn’t move, wouldn’t throw. Just rooted to the ground while the runners did their thing. It’s a beautiful game.
-
In an event game last night a ball was hit on the ground between first and second, I go to move my 2nd baseman to the right and he runs about 3 steps in before turning to the direction i was pointing. This has been going on all year.
-
I had one last night that I hadn't seen before. My second baseman fields a grounder and I press first base to throw there. Instead of throwing, he takes off in a sprint all the way to first and beats the runner there. Not sure what in the world was going on. I just had to laugh.

Yeah. It's really hard to understand this too. All the years this game has been around. This is an anniversary year so you'd think they'd put some effort into a "special" edition , plus everyone has the coronavirus blues, no baseball to watch, so you'd think they'd give the fans and players a bone. Sad.

No, MLB ‘18 won’t give up the title that easily. This is still better than ‘18. Barely.

It just happened again. My 3B fields a grounder and I try to throw to second to start a double play. Instead, he runs the ball all the way to second and the runner was safe. What the heck???? And yes, my second baseman was standing on the bag waiting for the throw.

idk what yall did to the hitting but fix it. Good Okay when the entire ball is in the PCI is not acceptable. Also online swing timing was tweeked because i am not late on everything including off speeds. Went from hitting .400+ with multiple players down to .280 since this patch

So it was a good patch then I see, you're actually hitting at a realistic batting average at .280? You should congratulate SDS for their hard work bud.

Just lost a game because Trout, who was camped out under a flyball on the warning track, didn’t acknowledge the ball until it passed over his right shoulder (I have the video)...SDS still doing its normal bang-up job?
-
Just had Kevin Kiermaier stand at the wall as a ball came down and hit the wall behind him, then he jumps out to play the carom as the ball is already 25 feet from the wall.

DOES THIS FIX AWFUL GAMEPLAY?

DOES THIS FIX AWFUL GAMEPLAY?
1.10? No, of course not. It’s a small patch that fixed just a couple of the many issues with fielding animations. The gameplay is awful for many reasons, including, but not limited to; inconsistent and inaccurate pitching, inconsistent and unforgiving swing timing windows, inconsistent and unforgiving pitch speeds, inconsistent and inaccurate batted ball outcomes and swing feedback, inconsistent and inaccurate defensive plays which would simply never happen in a real baseball game, such as crow hopping, glove pumping and left handed outfielders turning to throw right handed, before turning again to throw left handed, costing valuable time and surrendering bases unnecessarily, inaccurate calls, lag and desync causing strange occurrences such as players fielding balls eight feet off the base for a put out, which is still a put out anyway, foul bunts still being live balls in play which can result in outs, players running through solid objects such as walls and stands to make catches in the field, balls incorrectly being called home runs or ground rule doubles when hit off the wall and staying within play boundaries, inconstant inaccurate check swing calls, multiple, almost identical versions of the same cards being released every week, bunts being OP due to broken defense, steals being borderline OP with certain players, players being pulled off bases on soft toss throws and many more issues which I’ve probably missed off this list.
Now, most of these issues - In fact practically ALL of these issues - Have not been mentioned by SDS. They don’t care about them. Not even on the radar to be looked at, much less patched. So how did you expect 1.10 to fix awful gameplay? Make absolutely no mistake about it, we are all stuck with terrible gameplay for the duration of the year. There is no patch that could begin to fix the majority of the issues with this game that make gameplay so awful. It’s in the very DNA of the game, it’s so integral, it’s beyond repair. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
