I am a completely average to below average player and I finished the 3rd inning showdown with no problems at all. went into the final tied 15-15 with 20 outs to go. If I can do it, you can do it

Showdown is really love/hate. When I'm feeling it, I can cruise through showdowns pretty easily, but when I'm off, I'm really, REALLY off. I've gone into facing brady singer with 0 Fans, after doing every single blue and red once. I still don't know how I managed it, but it was frustrating

Today I went into Singer with only 3 runs. Typically I have no problem getting at least 9 on the way to the final. Lost 15-14 with the tying run on 3rd and winning run on 2nd. Rough.
But yeah sometimes it's a breeze and others you can't buy hits or your the CPU batters decide to hit HRs randomly.

It just really amplifies the frustration. A double play is frustrating enough, but when you need a run and you hit into 3 of them in 3 straight innings on hard hit balls it becomes break your controller frustrating.

Hate Showdown and this game... wish SDS and MLB the Show had some competition for baseball video gaming

Haven't been so frustrated with MLB in years. I'm not the best player and I'll admit it but for some reason I struggle with Showdown moreso than any other mode. Just seems there are WAY more lineouts, flyouts etc and everything is hit straight to someone. Enjoying it but just wish it was more consistent and the levels didn't advance throughout the same showdown. It should let you pick the difficulty and just adjust the rewards, makes it for everyone that way.

I've been playing this game since 17, and video game baseball since Earl Weaver way back in the 80's. I'm just saying this mode is a little too unforgiving. I'd like to see a save feature after each boss. If you lose on the next one, pay the re-entry free and start back where you saved. As someone that plays mostly offline, I have fewer options for getting DD points. Don't make those options this frustrating.
I refuse to play this mode, I just do player programs and re grind conquest over and over and over...btr than that scripted nonsense. No matter who is at the plate and who is pitching, the AI WILL get the double play when they need it. And when you're pitching and the AI wants to come back, your diamond pitcher will magically lose control even with a green energy bar. And the commons will blast the ball all over the park, and place perfect bloops. I despise SDS for their programming on this, they need come competition
Yea, I've pretty much focused on just conquest, and I do the player programs that give DD points each inning. I've conquered America four(?) times already. It's fun, relaxing, and not frustrating.
I had success with the NL version, thats a bit more toned down, but 3rd inning is ridiculous and maddening

Yeah I had good/goods and perfect/perfects die at the warning track. SDS does this mess by design. And when they need a double play they get one 9 times out of 10. That 1 out of 10 times they don't get it they will fly you out at the warning rack or pop it up to the catcher

But only when I have a runner on first, otherwise its hard liner to third or that ball is carrying, but only to the track.
