Starting pitcher matchup not working again.
-
Trying to grind position stats for TA and my starting pitchers aren't matching up again. Noticed this last night against the Brewers. I pick my 5th pitcher and I go against Brandon Woodruff every game. And now with my 5th starter against the red sox I face Sale every time.
Had this happen a few weeks or so ago and all that was needed was an app restart. This issue has persisted over multiple days now regardless of restart.
Is it just me?

It only matches up on conquest extended play is random

Ever since launch it has matched you up with whatever pitcher you picked.
I know this because I have been using the exact same strategy since launch. -
5th pitcher was always against the cpu 5th pitcher. And so on.
-
Are you picking your 5th lowest rated pitcher or the one in the 5th spot?

Yessir. I put in the lowest overall and pick him every time. I know their stats only count for vs cpu but I still don't like to give my "good" pitchers a loss since I quit after I get 3 outs in the top of the inning.

Not for extended play i picked kluber vs nationals and i got there third starter on conquest its the position you pick but not extended play

I'm sorry dude but you are just wrong. I have done this since launch. Example: I need hits with orioles infielders. So I load up with em. Select my 5th pitcher and have always got their 5th pitcher. To break up the monotony I would go down the list and play the top of the inning against each team until I got the stats needed.
So if I was playing against the red sox I would pick away team so I can bat first and pick my 5th pitcher. I would always always always go against Brian Johnson, their 5th pitcher. It was like this for every team I faced, until last night.
Again, no offense but you are just wrong on this.
-
It got to the point where I knew what handed pitcher the 5th starter was for most teams because I did it so much. So if I was looking to hit against a lefty/righty along with the right stadium I knew exactly what team to play against.

All extended play CPU games it seems to be random who they matched with. In fact more often than not, when I picked my Ace, I was matched up against their 5th banana. Just lucky I guess.
Though, I really only starting grinding extended CPU games about a month ago. -
I was pretty sure OP was right about extended play. I would play certain teams on rookie knowing that their fifth starter was a lefty to knockout some affinity missions with righty hitters. It always worked for me. Could have been luck, but that seems unlikely.
-
Yes OP was right, it always matched
-
just did it i picked kluber and got matched up with bronze pitcher
-
It only matches up on conquest
-
Look at my game history
-
It has never been matched when I do "play vs CPU" It only matches for conquest games.

If you’re quitting after the first 3 outs then why does it matter??

It doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things, but seeing one of my top pitchers with a 23-78 record after a quick quit just doesn't sit right with me. Call it a pet peeve.

maybe now but all modes used to match. I have never done stat missions in conquest since I am quitting after the top of the 1st regardless.
