It’s seems harder. I’m just starting this year.
Last year we had a whole list of missions. Boss battle games and more missions for winning games online in different modes.
Now it’s just showdown, a few online missions. Conquest and collects which I can’t do because i just started. Showdown is like overwhelming for me.
Am I missing something or is it harder for a 4 day a week player than last year.
I feel like I’ll never get another boss again. Lol

You're not wrong. Diamond Dynasty is definitely meant for the streamers, or at the very least the 2-3 hour/day player.

I barely reached 300 last inning and that was with me actually completing the showdown. Too many of the offline methods to earn points are all or nothing this year. Obviously Conquest has always been that way but this year both the new mode Showdown and the Player programs take all of the moments that we got last year, bundles them all together and then makes us beat them all to in order
to get the program points. Oh, and the program points we earn from the player programs are almost always less than the points those same missions would have earned us last year.

I haven't made it 300 in either of the first two innings. I absolutely hate showdown, and I'm an essential worker. Last year, each moment gave you stars, but now that the moments are locked into the player programs, if you don't complete the program, you get no stars. Definitely not meant for the casual players this year.

I know I’m probably one of those people who sound like they can never be satisfied... but, even for all the griping I did about moments last year, I miss them this year. I get that Showdown is essentially just a cluster of moments, but I hate the all-or-nothingness of showdown. I liked being able to pick and choose the moments that I felt like doing. Oh well.

I have to disagree with OP though — I do think the road to 300 is a lot easier for good players this year (note: I am NOT a good player, so it’s a hassle for me). But if you have the previous inning collection, plus conquest, plus showdown, you’re already at 175 points with only a couple hours of grinding. Then I think there are enough of the the “Win X games in RS, BR, or Events” missions to get to pretty close within a day or two.

I remember last year, people would do that ridiculous 2-player exploit to get to 300 points by striking themselves out for 12 consecutive hours. It feels to me like they negated that loophole this year by making it fairly easy to get to 300 just by playing like a normal human being.

EDIT: I really dislike the player programs so far because, A) the big chunk of points is an all-or-nothing group of moments, and one or two are always a PITA, and B) because you also need to do a lot of online-only missions and/or exchanges. I really hope they listen to their fans because it seems like a fair number of people want player programs to be more accessible through offline game modes. Playing the game is playing the game — why they gotta cater to online??

The difference is showdown. In previous years it was moments that earned stars for each one. This year its showdown and collecting player programs. The same amount of stars are available, the method of earning them has changed.

But wait they were aiming the game for the 98% casual players now weren't they......just seems an endless grind now with the lack of fun and enjoyment. So many vs cpu games you can't play, so much frustration with mto and showdown....player programs are ridiculous esp the multi game ones.....REALLY DROPPED THE BALL THIS YEAR. Last year lost interest around my birthday, this year a month sooner. Nice touch fixing what wasnt broken and breaking it even more and leaving what was broken alone. Superb job!

It is much harder this year. I never got to 300 last inning. I didn't care either, the rewards sucked.

I am an essential worker as well. I agree 100%. I do not have time for the "ALL the moments or I get nothing BS" that is Showdown and Player Programs.
