So, is Good/Okay here to stay?

We haven’t seen anything with hitting patched in a long time and I was wondering if the absolute garbage that is good/okay (on balls fully within/near center pci) just something their programmers don’t have the skill to fix. I cannot imagine they actually intended for balls hit exactly where the top dot would be by a power hitter to get okay/85mph results (since they touted the 3 dot system during all the streams) just like I also cannot imagine they intended for balls effectively touching dead center to get okay either.
As it stands now, the hitting engine is the worst I’ve played (started in 16) and perfect/perfect is really just lipstick on a pig.

Gonna have to say you never played 18, that was and still is by far the worst as far as gameplay and content.

I played 18 a ton (had all the immortals). The issues with 18 weren’t so much the hitting engine, as the slow pitch speeds and every lineup having 125 power across the board.

Go play 18 again with your immortal lineup and show me the near center good timed 85-90mph exit velos. They didn’t exist. In 18 if you put pci near center with high power guys, you were rewarded with high exit velocity pretty consistently.
And I wasn’t commenting on content, which was awful in 18, just that this hitting engine in 20 is trash.

It's doesn't help people, so it's not a priority for these savages.

18 was basically home run or bust. Contact hitters were completely useless.

Yeah the good okay with what appears to be good PCI placement is my only complaint about hitting this year. I swear I would beat more showdowns if it was for this.

I think you forget what 18 was like... You would have good/good center PCI pop ups to the catcher. It was horrendous.

Because power was the ONLY hitting stat that mattered. Vision, contact had no use. Even though 20 hitting engine isn't great, I am able to use contact hitters, and they play well.
