Can someone explain to me how guys with a 35 rating lay down perfect bunts almost every time? But guys with high control & BB/9 misses targets left and right by 3-5 inches. This game makes it look so easy, that every guy should bunt on the shift. Doesn’t work like in the real world SDS.

It’s fun and realistic because one time Kyle Schwarber laid down a bunt for a hit

Yeah, and every blind squirrel finds an acorn too. Gywnn has an awful bunt rating, but Yelich with a 35 can lay down bunts with ease. I thought Gywnn had a pretty good bunt rating last year?

I’ve never understood bunting in this game. In 19 players you should have been bunting with would launch the ball right at a fielder for an automatic double play. It was safer to swing away with a pitcher than try to move the runner over with a bunt. Meanwhile in one of my games today my opponent had Frank Thomas lay down a perfect suicide squeeze drag bunt in the first inning. But that’s just baseball...

That just shows how out of touch the higher ups at SDS are about baseball. I highly doubt Frank laid down a bunt during his MLB career, let alone a perfect one.

They "fixed" bunting the last two years making it so bunt cheese online would be a thing of the past. The problem is all bunts were rockets (offline as well) and you couldn't sacrifice. This year they are still rockets for the most part, but the infield defense is so unreliable its back to cheese again. Even with bunt defense on your fielders are a) not sure who should field it and b) not sure who covers where.

Not to mention the fielders that throw lollipops and can’t tag a runner even though he runs right through them.

Had that happen to me again today. 1st baseman thought the runner was his kryptonite

Have you had the botched squeeze play where the catcher has the ball and still can’t make the out at home?

Lmao in the Tyler glasnow moments, I bunted to speed up the game. In my final atbat, I literally bunted a rainbow single that dropped in just past the 3rd basemans leap and just at the feet of the hustling left fielder. What a joke.

No, that’s pretty rough, but the one I mean is where the runner literally runs through the catcher.

I've seen that, but not at home. Similar issues at 2nd and 3rd

That just happened to me tonight in a bunt-cheese RS game. My opponent played the first 1.5 innings "normal", and then started bunting with every player after that. In one case, my pitcher throws a bunt right back to my catcher to tag out runner from 3rd. guy runs through my catcher like he's a ghost. No tag out.

I think the problem there was I moved my catcher at the runner instead of just standing there with the ball. But even so, the catcher should know to tag the runner out.

Yes, exactly. I sent a report with video to SDS of this, but you’re right. The problem seems to happen when you move your catcher up the line towards the runner.
