That’s what I don’t share so many peoples’ anti-FS sentiment. These are a very temporary flavor of the month (week?). Their attributes look great, but if you have the choice of using an MLB legend or a AA slapdick prospect, we’re all gonna go with the names we know. I think by June or whatever, no one is going to be using these with any regularity.

Dane Dunning is a beast though.

this is just a opinion but they just dont bring and excitment to me. yes people are gonna say "their stats are beast" i understand that but i would rather be going after throwback and current cards that have boosted stats.

    Quick question:

Do you follow minor-league baseball and top prospects in real life?

very minimally, i of course being a phillies fan know the phillies prospects but i did know most of the prospect pack players

The problem is all the top prospects were in the prospect packs a month ago. These guys are all just guys.

Most of the future stars aren’t even top prospects lmao.

Those were the actual prospect series of cards.

when i think prospects i think of kopech, rutshmen, vuaghn, and so on. and this is before they had cards

To be fair, most of the FS cards are really deep cuts. The diamond and most of the gold prospects were all very familiar names that big baseball fans have all heard. But most of these guys are totally foreign to most of us unless they’re on our favorite teams. think there are several of these FS who aren’t even on the Top 100 prospects list.

Well... because his card is nasty lol. Now, the reason I grinded to get him so quickly in the first place is definitely due to my Sox bias. But my opinion on the card itself is objective.

That's exactly what I'm saying. Before long we'll be seeing Prime/Sig. Series David Ortiz, Albert Pujols, and Ken Griffey Jr. cards and the Future Stars cards will be relegated to a novelty.

See, you're not the demographic here -- and that's okay because you'll soon be bombarded with tons of amazing Legends and Flashbacks that you won't even see these too much. Well, unless one of them is really amazing and we all catch on (ala. Matt Olson and Fernando Tatis Jr.)

I was lucky and my team got the #38 prospect in baseball as our FS because wow Kevin Smith is the #7 prospect in the Blue Jays organization according to fangraphs

No. He was #7 going into 2019.
    He's now #23!!!!!
Had a .666 OPS and a .308 OPS in AFL. Basically he's a non prospect lol

Take a look at each team’s top 30... I think you’ll find you’re mistaken on this take.

Top prospects means top 100, not where they rank in individual farm systems.

Kevin Smith is in the blue jays top 30, so that makes him a top prospect according to you?

I love them, yes they aren't realistic. But I LOVE using good versions of prospects I've had in fantasy baseball dynasty leagues for years. Having a blast leading off Brujan while smoking bombs with Gorman.

I mean you could actually spend some time looking these kids up. Watch some footage, watch some interviews and humanize these young ones who are hoping to be future stars someday. Almost every current and former all star started out as a nobody. We might even be discussing diamond rated LS cards of some of these players in the near future.

Such a weird complaint about having variety like this. Let the kids play!

Guys.. literally about 12 of these 30 guys are in the top 100... I know prospects pretty well and a few of these guys are not even on the radar. Kevin Smith isn't the only one. Half of these guys won't even reach the majors. Some have massive flaws. None are top 20. None.
Top prospects were the prospect series. those are the guys with real chances to make the majors and succeed. These guys are borderline at best...
Also, high picks and top 20 guys don't start out as nobody. Everybody who follows the game knows them.
People knew Vlad Jr. when he was 16!

To be fair, I'm sure they were expecting there to be a season back when they originally planned out the content and a lot of these guys would have been close to being called up by now. I think that would have increased the excitement level considerably.

As an A's fan I'm super disappointed by the lack of an AJ Puk card in the game so far, but I actually like the FS cards.

I'm waiting for the day they get to guys who have a mlb.com page for them but were never good enough to actually have any information put on that page.

While I do think that there is a place for Future Stars cards, it is disappointing and a bit disrespectful to MLB's current stars in how much better FS attributes are in comparison to the Live series Diamond cards...who have actually EARNED their attributes.
