What is making me dislike this game is that I cant even make contact most of the time. I have to guess location and swing before the ball leaves the pitcher's hand, which means i cant react to anything else either. I'm striking out 20 times a game, so is my opponent a lot of the time. It's not fun. It's just not fun.
I didnt have this issue in 18 or 19, i didnt even have it in 17 and i was on garbage dsl for that one. My setup is mostly unchanged, in fact last year I was playing on a tv with no game mode, now I've got one with 12ms, so it should be better, it's not. I went back and played 19 a couple weeks ago, same setup and it felt great. Yes there were a lot of line outs, but at least I was making hard contact.
So, whatever it is, pitch speeds, timing window, servers. Whatever the issue is I'm not the only one frustrated and its not because I lose, it's because it's simply not fun in its current state.
It’s not the pitch speeds it’s the 12ms TV that’s unfortunately causing you to struggle. I had the same issue as you with a bad TV with higher than 12ms and couldn’t make it past 600 this year where as I was 600-800 consistently last year. A few weeks ago I bought a 1ms monitor and there is a huge difference in being able to read pitches and square up the ball consistently and I’ve already made it to 755
There are problems with this game obviously but in my opinion it’s more on how the game is supposed to be running (good input on pitches, good okays that should be squared etc)but are frustrating a lot of players -

Ir why I can go play 19 right now with the exact same setup on the exact same tv and exact same connection and not have this problem.
Its not my tv, and if it somehow was (its not), then sds should specify that a gaming monitor is required to play the game.

The game was great week one. With the pitching and fielding issues you could hit your way back into a game. Now it’s a good ok fest, early and late is rewarded. And perfect perfect is either a homerun or an out. The game could be amazing but it is just not

People just whine and cry when they lose. They always have, and always will.
Am I guilty of this from time to time? Yep. I just try to be positive and realize it's just a game. Last night I complained after losing an event game where I had much better PCI placement than my opponent but he got 4 runs through jammed late hits and my SS not even animating on a ground ball. Oh and my C dropping a 3rd strike.
Anyone who saw the game would say yea...the better player definitely lost.
However that happens. Such is life. Get over it. The game has RNG within it, and like it or not that just what it is.
I hit 900 season 1 then haven't played a game in season 2. I personally think the game is in a bad spot competitively. The fielding is still has broken aspects. You can have fun but if the fielding bug hits you and it ruins a game...yea it's pretty game breaking.
On the flip side I actually enjoy showdown

Except it's not just people crying about losing. That's just an easy way to hand wave real issues.

[censored] player here. I enjoy the game for what it is.
I play a lot of online in All-Star difficulty and I liked MLBTS19's game play a lot better because I prefer a small ball game that favors contact hitters and speed. This game is feast or famine with the Homeruns and while that may be more exciting to Little Billy and the Wallet Warriors, it reminds me a bit too much of MLBTS19...which was by far the worst iteration of the game I've played since The Show on PS2.

Ok now you can reference back to the cry baby portion of my post.

Not crying, its objectively broken. I dont cry when I lose. I'm fine losing.

Yes it is. (Good).

All in all there are clearly problems and frustrations with the game, but if you ever step back and just 'watch' the game, you;ll see how beautiful it actually plays. the swing animations are gorgeous, usually they actually go to the pitch more or less which is nice. the fielding animations (when errors aren't committed) are smooth. The sounds off the crack of the bat are amazing. Everything about this game is aesthetically really well done and if we weren't judging it from a competitive standpoint, it is great.
From a competitive standpoint, They need to make up their minds on things. if you are going to have skill based matchmaking using ratings, then why have SO MUCH randomness to user input. I am talking about the same things everyone is talking about. If I call for low changeup or curveball on 0-2 and I pull my analog stick past the yellow line, it should NEVER be in the strike zone. Same if i want to bury a slider down and in to a lefty, i KNOW for a fact i am pushing my analog stick up to the right but the game is showing me that I am pushing it up to the left in the feedback window and hanging it (when I know that is absolutely not the case)
Fix user inputs, make user input matter. Don't have any sort of game balancing dynamic adjustments. Stop with the randomness of the feedback window. If you want less balls squared up and hit hard, then make the PCIs smaller and have the feedback window be more specific. the range of timing that constitutes "Good" is too wide so even when you're a fraction early or late, it tells you "good" so you think it should have been hit hard. All these changes only should apply to ranked seasons which, by definiteion, should be the most competitive and therefore people should have no problem with these changes.
Edit: (16-2 600s rating)

Barely made WS last season. The game is VERY frustrating at times, but it is, in my opinion, the sports game that plays the most like the real thing. Hitting is pretty good, imo better than last year, and content is great as always. Overall my go-to video game.
