I've actually discovered if you move your fielder at the last second towards the ball and arriving to ball at last second I verry very rarely make errors anymore maybe 1 every 3-5games well i watch my oppenents struggle in the OF
Hmm. I wouldn’t advise any sudden last minute movements of the fielder if you want to actually make the play.
If you stop touching everything when they get near the ball they usually carry on to make the play successfully. It’s when you’re trying to field a ball on the move or you’re near a wall and they start to do the animation for being near an obstacle instead of the catch animation. Sometimes the game selects the wrong animation and they’ll make an incorrect play based on proximity to the ball.
Yes. This applies to tags as well. If you try to move towards the runner to tag him, sometimes a different animation kicks in and the runner can run right through you and be safe even if you have the ball.
Yup, I’ve recorded clips of that too. Hopefully it’s time to break out the diving catch and home run robbery clips after this patch, I prefer making clips of highlight reel plays to clips highlighting the misplayed balls.
How do you record clips?
Use the share button on your PS4 controller. Edit to add I’ve had zero fielding issues so far in the event. Gallo missed a flyball in left but it wasn’t an egregious example, it wasn’t noteworthy to me personally, like when the ball hits them in the face. If I do see anything blatantly broken I’ll clip it and leave a link here.
But do you start to 'record' before the game loads?
I know I can go into Replay History to view replays and possibly save those. But what I want to do is review a played gamw3, in its entirety, and edit that way.
Ex: I played someone the other day in BR who played like a complete tool. Bunt dancing, stepping off every pitch, calling timeout/pausing every pitch, taking a lead then moving back every pitch, etc.
I messed up on a pitch and left something hang over the plate and he hit a homerun. Proceeded to do the 'replay' and then msgd me running his mouth.
I ended up hitting a 2run walk off homerun and I wanted to send him that replay; but I didn't hit Share Video until after the End of Game screen loaded and it recorded that.
Right. On PS4, provided you’re not streaming your gameplay or in a blocked screen, such as the home screen or an in game screen which could reveal personal information, your gameplay is constantly being recorded. Using the share button will cause the last video to be saved, or take a screenshot.
The best thing for you to do would be to access the sharing and broadcasts menu from your PS4 home screen (Go to settings menu then look for sharing and broadcasts). From here, you can set the actions pressing, holding or double tapping the share button will have, choose the length of video clip to be saved (from 60 seconds to the last 60 minutes of gameplay) and change the format of your screenshots to .jpeg or .png format. There are also setting for streaming your gameplay, for example, on Twitch. Once you have everything set up, it’s pretty self-explanatory. You can find your saved clips in the capture gallery, where you can then edit them further, such as trimming the recording down to a suitable length etc. Hope that helps. What am I doing wrong? I have it set to record for 60 mins. But I just went into a Conquest game and once the game was over I hit the Share button the Save Video and when I went into my folder; it only saved the last 4 secs.

Hitting is fine, doesn’t need to be touched. Not being able to locate pitches, that is something that needs to be patched.

Going to post this here. Let's try to keep all discussion about 1.09 in this thread.
I want to take this time to say thank you. I’ve played after the 1.09 patch and it appears as though these two issues have been addressed. I know there are other issues that will be addressed in the future but I was nice to play a game and have these two things not only work right but make the game less stressful. So thank you!

The problem with hitting is the timing window not hitting itself. Locating pitches on good releases I agree. I'm at work so I'll see the fielding tonight Lol
-
Are they still making weird, reaching across body catching animations and stuff? Or is fielding actually smooth like 19?

Lol.. right on, I’m not essential
I used to have that same frustration hitting the ball - Not sure what you’re playing on, but once I changed the name of my HDMI port to “PC” I’ve had no issues with timing the ball.

fielding has still got issues, 2nd one tonight, first was FOTF Buxton, now FOTF Moncada
sorry about the quality

I would definitely advise against that under any circumstances.

Hmmm I'm on a monitor but maybe just maybe I don't have the settings right. Is the HDMI port setting in the PS4 "settings" menu? Yeah I'm essential....Logistics

this has got to be a joke. first pitch post patch, ball goes to the wall, mantle goes for it, doesn't attempt to catch it and won't pick it up.
I just cannot take the ineptitude of this company much longer. they are an embarrassment.
