So, I fired up my system today to play some franchise mode. The system seems to have lost all of its settings, as if this was the first time I played the game (nothing else messed with thankfully). I had to pick my favorite team again, tutorials were on and it had gone back to default settings. I ended up doing a deep dive into all the settings and came across a fielding shift option that can either be automatic or manual. Changing to manual in franchise mode and saving those settings may have potentially fixed this issue!!! The setting is not available in RTTS options, but for the first time ever, I started an at bat in shallow right field (2nd baseman)!!!

Please someone else try this out and let me know if I should deserve a medal, or at least a cookie!

You mean it fixed it in RTTS? Potentially?

I thought so, but it hasn't worked tonight at all 😞

I lined up in short right field to start an at bat yesterday though. First time ever.

Man, I was hoping you were right. I made the change you recommended, but no luck for me. Thanks for experimenting with this - I still think you deserve a cookie.

I wish I had figured it out too 😞

I was in shock when I lined up in short right field the one time.

Saw this in the 1.09 patch notes last night:

Fixed an issue where middle infielders in an extreme shift were not fielding batted balls they should have.

    Maybe it's a fix???
