I’ve been playing The Show for years. However, I’ve never played March to October. With team affinity, I’m seeing that M2O is a quick way to rank up.

How long does a season normally take? Only found one mention of it and that player said 5-6 hours.

Also, any helpful tips for a M2O newb?

Had same question earlier in the year. Some people said as quick as 8 hours to get ws but most said around 10-12.
Ive run 4 so far this year and they all were around 10-12 to win ws. Its only about 6 hours for regular season but playoffs is a grind.

Do you get affinity points at the all star break or do you have to complete the season first?

You get them at all star break, end of season and end of each playoff round. I did a couple teams just regular season because it was all the points i needed. Left them saved in the playoffs so i can finish them off and get rest of points for the stage 2

I’m just wrapping up my 3rd run and I think 6-7 hours is much closer than 10-12.

However — I’ve only played using the
3rd-tier teams (White Sox, D-Backs, and Angels). It’s entirely possible that you have to play more games or longer games for one of the top tier teams like NYY or LAD. I’ve always wondered how it can be fair to give the same rewards for winning the WS with a massive underdog like the Orioles as for winning the WS with favorites like the Yankees. Maybe you just have to play more games with the favored teams?

I made a thread about this that I update every once in a while.

If you are playing just to grind ta points then I'd suggest putting your teams top prospects on your tradebate list and fish for highend players to make your run to ws easier.

A lot of moments are towards end of game so i always go for a good closer and some power for quick offense at end of games for comebacks

Maybe thats true. Ive only done contenders and favorites and they all were 10+ hours easily. Except for the padres, that run was only 8 hours. Maybe its shorter for the underdogs? That would be nice cause grinding with bad teams is rough

Y’all are awesome for helping me out. I appreciate all your replies @Quinn2161

I’m a diehard Royals fan. So I’m gonna do a round with them. It’s painful to support them in rough times, which is most of the time in KC. I suspect trying to win a WS will also be painful.

No worries man! Glad i could help. I couldnt bring myself to grind the royals but I wanted merrifield badly so i grinded a couple showdows for him, so worth it, i love that card!

I feel ya on the rough times, ive watched alot of ups and downs with the As and can relate but you guys have a great gm whos built a winner ground up before, gotta trust he can do it again. Future looking bright there with soler, mondesi, dozier etc.

I’m a Sox fan so I know what it’s like to support a losing team! But if your front office is taking advantage of high draft picks, you may be poised for a really good rebuild in a few years.

I’m actually planning to do KC next in MtO because that FOTF merrifield looks awfully nice. And you guys have a lot of glitchy players that always seem to rake in BR — Soler, Perez, Merrifield, and Mondesi, just off the top of my head. That’s a really strong core right there. I’m not sure what your farm system looks like, but I can see KC playing well if I luck out and get offered 2 or 3 good trade pieces.

@SchnauzerFace FOTF merrifield is legit! Versatile and very quick swing. Lots of gappers

I already have FOTF Merrifield. He’s going to be my 2B for the foreseeable future. I also have FOTF Olson who straight up rakes.

I had to sell off some lucky draws I got from packs to buy almost 100 silvers to exchange for enough affinity to get them. I’ve depleted my inventory and am anticipating needing a way to get round two of team affinity. I look forward to the M2O.

Watch this Video by GomesDaLegend. It really helps to shave A LOT of time off you your MTO Runs. (especially the changes he recommends in settings). For me, I generally play them on Rookie to guarantee I will win the WS, but if you are really good at the game, Veteran or AS will get you a more points. For me, even on Rookie, I have been getting the full 8 points at the AS break and ant the end of the season, because I win most of the games (most I lose is probably 2 if I am unlucky). So I basically get 40 points even on Rookie Level. Also, trade for a stud closer and 2 hitters, as you wont be using SP too much in any of the moments because the game dont start until the 6th or 7th innings. Also, put all of your top prospects on the trade block. You wont need them and you'll ad studs like Yelich for your playoff runs.

It depends on how early you clinch the division. It sims the rest of the season once you do, you can easily cut a month out of the time it takes.
