Better showmanship in gameplay
-
So it's no secret that playing ranked is one of the most toxic environments there is. It's almost unplayable at times with guys just pulling their ethernet cords the moment you hit a bomb so they can possibly protect their ERA or records. SDS you need to develop a toxicity rating.. or call it showmanship rating i don't care. but guys gotta be called out for bad behaviour. the report button is def not enough. Give people the insentive to play more fairly and with better attitudes by assigning a rating similar to what facebook has on marketplace. the higher the rating of the seller (the player) the more you're likely to play them. Show the rating pre-game and let people decide if they want to waste their time on some kid who will spaz after one bomb. would make the game a LOT better. my 2 cents

Didn't realize it was a popularity contest, maybe put the blame on SDS for pairing people who have no business playing each other. If I play online, which I rarely do, and you hit two home runs in a row, or you're up by 6 and are still swinging for the fences, I'm throwing at you. I wish this game had a take-out slide option. SDS sits around in their office watching Moneyball all day, saying... yeah, walks are the same as hits, and home runs are the only hits that count. Blame SDS not the outmatched player you are playing.

Since you decided to weigh in I will reply. Good suggestion. SDS should pair people better. But since they don't do it perfectly yet... If you're throwing at heads... This IS about you. Nobody needs that nonsense. Nothing to do with popularity... is about making the game playable. Also, you say to blame it on SDS instead of take it out on players... doesn't that defeat your whole comment? take it up with SDS before throwing at heads. I get the frustration for guys stealing and bunting with a massive lead gap.. it's bad taste... but hitting homers? What would you like players to do? You swing and things happen... I mean they could sit and watch balls go by and get k'd if it soothed your ego?.. nobody likes a toxic environment except the toxic. Throwing at heads serves nothing for nobody. It only helps you feel better. Ranked play is about improving your rank and people will play to their ability. So getting pissy when people overpower you.. sorry that's just a pride/ego thing. get better until SDS takes your suggestion and does something about it. As you know... they do pair ranked levels together ... but any of those guardrails can be bypassed in creative ways. The moment you throw at my head... You get that 1 out of 5 in sportsmanship. And you get stuck with guys who like to throw at heads. Simple as that. Willing to bet the majority will love that vs hate it.

@victoryphoenix_MLBTS I forget what game it was but In one baseball game u could actually brawl. Would be a fun addition just make it rare so ppl aren’t going for it every game.

@kapre7908_PSN If you have a respectable lead, just take the win, no need to run up the score. That is the whole purpose of the unwritten rules and old school baseball. the modern sabermetrics born philosophy of sportsmanship is a sham. True Sportsmanship is respecting the game by not making a joke of it. Bob Gibson, Nolan Ryan Al Leiter and Even Greg Maddox would throw at guys for disrespecting the game. When I played if you didn;t do a take out slide it was considered an insult to the baseball gods. If someone blocks a basepath they deserve to get run over. We are disrespecting 100 years of hard nose baseball to glorifying showboating.
