Arizona could have been there top prospect Kristian Robinson
and the Padres should have been Taylor TramallTrammell perhaps, but Robinson isn't projected to arrive until 2022.
The Padres was tough. It could easily have gone to Tatis, Paddock, Grisham, Naylor...the list is kinda long. I decided to go with Gore since he's their top prospect and projected to reach the majors this season, and Trammell was extremely "meh" last year in AA.
The Padres are stacked with talent. It could be a fun decade for them. Gore is the right choice. Will see what Trammell will do this year or next but yes he was mediocre last year.

Wander Franco is hands down the top prospect in mlb and has insane skills... Yet will he even get one?
Also would make a lot more sense to see Deivi Garcia instead of Schmidt for the Yanks -- or dare we say Jasson Dominguez?
Boston needs Triston Casas -- he's got 70 grade power... Protype 6'4" 1B masher.
Wander Franco is projected to get to the majors in 2021. He can headline the Prospects cards and that'd be good.
Jasson Dominguez is 17 and not knocking on the door.
I chose Schmidt over Garcia just based how Garcia's numbers have gotten worse as he progresses through the level (Not bad...just worse) while Schmidt's have improved. It was pretty much a coin flip.
Cant scout stats too much especially with pitchers because they will have them throw a steady dose of whatever pitch they want them to work on without caring for results so much. Garcia has premier insane swing and miss stuff and competing for a rotation slot. He'd be a ton of fun to play with. Schmidt is kind of far away 3 games above high A so if that factors as it does for Franco he should be out too.
Franco has a shot to accelerate this year much like Soto did, don't sleep on his ETA.
Except where I said I was using players who were projecting to be in the majors soon. Perhaps I should've worded it differently and said "projected in 2020" which Franco is not, but Schmidt is (as is Garcia).
Baseball America has Franco with a 2020 ETA. Just saying.

I'm just telling you the most respected prospect source in the industry has Franco with a 2020 ETA. Don't get all huffy because you didn't know.
Just say oh i didn't know that wow cool thanks, maybe he does qualify for FS then.

I liked your picks. They are well thought out and make sense.
I would have changed the Marlins pick to a handful of different players
JJ Bleday
Sandy Alcantara - A legit Future Star
Pablo LopezIt's hard to pick a Future Star on team that is so young and mostly not ready to face MLB competition.
I will not lie...I looked at every other team's depth chart and top 30 prospects. I didn't even consider doing that for the Marlins...I was just like...well...this guy got us Yelich, so he'll do.
At least you didn't pick the "headliner" from the Trade, Lewis Brinson.
You robbed us blind, well done by your GM.
Stearns is great. He's pretty much stolen some great seasons from other teams for about nothing: Yelich, Hader, Shaw, Aguilar...He's so much better than Doug Melvin who would sign old has been pitchers to 4 year deals and traded Carlos Lee and Nelson Cruz for a closer and a handful of replacement players.
Considering we got Lee for Scott Podsednik and a reliever, it wasnt that terrible. CoCo was good for us. I hated that we gave up Cruz in that deal though. I kept mentioning to others how good he was but all i kept hearing was that he strikes out too much. It was too bad he had to go in the deal.

Cordero was for sure solid, but we gave up Lee and Cruz (who, fairly wasn't seen as a blue chip) and got...Kevin Mench? Laynce Nix? Feels like there was somebody else that wasn't all that useful in that trade.
I'll give Melvin some credit for Sabathia, though. Hard to believe Michael Brantley was a PTBNL in that deal.
But Suppan, Garza, Lohse...ugh...

Mench was coming off back to back 25 HR seasons and he was looking to get a power bat back, so it made sense. Obviously, it didnt work out in the end. Nix was a former prospect that some thought could eventually come good in the right situation. He was the kind of guy that might be given a 92 diamond future star card by SDS, lol.

I don’t recall Mench ever being very good...let alone having 2 25 homer seasons, so that’s fair.
