How is the Community Market feeling (9)

Bot is heavily active in the Kazuma Okamoto World Baseball Classic card right now. Instant outbid when I bid or retract my bid. Also noticed stub transfer activity on the card on Oct 14 around 5:07 AM Pacific Time. Dozens of alternating bids between 18007 and 49990 stubs taking place within a minute of each other.
Edit: same thing with Logan Webb WBC card. I’m just trying to collect the WBC cards. Seems like most of them are botted and where the stub transfer activity is happening.

This is my first year playing this game so I don’t have years of experience like a lot of players - my take is that live series cards are only worth something when players need them to finish live series collection and I think 99% of players trying to do that have finished it long ago. The scouting report vault pack and new conquest with vault pack the last 2 days took the prices down even lower. Only a small handful of cards that have been around for most of the season have retained any value (a few wbc cards, inning boss cards, headliners cards), but if you look at them closely, you’ll see that most only have 1-2 sales some days. (Unless bots are working them ofc)

Agree with Oliver about live series. Something that SDS needs to do in the future is have inning rewind packs similar to rank/event/weekend Classic. I know once we get the final inning path that we get one boss pack from each inning, but for people who missed a month here and there or picked up the game late they are at such a huge disadvantage having to overpay for these cards that aren’t even meta. I don’t think it’s asking for much since they don’t even do cards for battle royals anymore. Also it is very dumb that Eddie Rosario and Logan Webb WBC cards are not in the ranked rewind packs.

The Vault packs from Mini Season, Conquest and Scouting report pack tanked the Live Series. Dont think it is any bot activity.

Stan Musial Milestone card has had a bot in it all weekend. Been trying to sell one of that card all weekend and am instantly outbid by 1 stud. How did the bots bypass the app verification?
-
The market would definitely benefit from a tightening of the filters.

You guys have let the bots get out of control again
-
@manu__sds_mlbts hi Manu! Bots are back as aggressive as I’ve seen them in awhile. Definitely not as fast, but the pattern of behavior is there. Just slower to avoid detection I’m assuming. Seeing the bot like activity across a number of player items
-
@UncleVinny___PSN it’s just as fast as before, and in virtually every card listing now. Looks like I’ll be staying off the market again for a while. Seriously, probably time to make the market access, console only. Or maybe make it mandatory to do at least one console based market transaction per hour. Wouldn’t even mind is you required 2 factor authentication instead of recapcha’s.
-
Yep it’s been stalled yet again. I’ve been saying console only for months now. While I enjoyed the convenience of the app I’ve done almost all my transactions on the console this year. Although tedious and inconvenient it’s much more honest. It’s honestly the way to go moving forward to fully eliminate these “bad actors” once and for all.

I’m curious to see how they deal with this in the next game. Every single time the marketplace improves, bots figure out how to get back in within 48 hours. May not be in the volume we saw at the beginning of this year, but even now just one bot can pretty much hold a monopoly on old cards that have slow transaction turnover. I would hate to move to console only transactions since the app is so convenient, but I’m not sure if improvements from this year can carry over to next year once player numbers go way up and the bots take over again because of the real world money involved. I really wish certain content creators would just get away from this game with permanent bans being placed on their accounts and any alternates they try, because they played a large part in even creating a place for bots because of their advertising and greed.
Add to that the questionable decisions that continue to surround other aspects of the game like PCI shrinkage, card caps limiting live series investments, the lack of updates to many other player concerns (outside of Manu and Joe of course here in the forums), abandonment of Live Twitch Streams, and what has felt like underwhelming postseason releases compared to years past, although we did finally get J-Ram.
I could nitpick other small things, but I’ve already got a bit off topic. I know there are still devs and people who care about the game, but I’ll end with one final thought. I think SDS needs to do a Developer Insights type of VLOG post or live streams to address how concerns will be answered for 27. The community at large needs to be involved throughout this process and it would be great to start soon. Send out more frequent surveys accessible through the app, website and in game. Surveys could be short and very specific, such as “In the show 26, we made changes to limit card caps because of (be honest and state the real reason), how did you like it and how did it fall short.” I think if the surveys are targeting the major concern points instead of just the current surveys which we get covering every aspect of the game, the responses will form their own patterns on where the community really wants the game to head. Continue to do follow up surveys as the team narrows down solutions and stay ahead of feedback and communication. We need more involvement than just a few streamers flying out in February to make a few videos to hype up the game in March, just to learn that their feedback wasn’t early enough and to be told “hopefully next year.”

@Manu__SDS_MLBTS please move to the next tightening phase or however you want to put it. We need a little breathing room from market bots. Thanks.
