I am part Puerto Rican, Clemente is probably the best baseball player to be born on that island. Even athlete perhaps.

Gotta give Clemente some respect so I loaded the game up today.
I had 12 double plays before getting the XBH moment complete. 7 grounders, 3 lineouts to 3rd, and 2 outfield assists. And 2 perfect perfect flyballs to center on top of that. Not my favorite moment this year.

So...heres one of the greatest defensive players of all time....
And his card is worse defensively than several cards that have been out for two months. Offensively, he's tough to use due to the power numbers.
Next year, can we please fix the issue where 90 percent of cards are effectively unusable? No, they'll just give us another beltran whos better than everyone else. All baseball historians know that the best players of all time were Beltran and Ian Happ.

How do they do that?
By making every card interchangeable?
There are 13 Primary RF cards that are 99 OVR. The earliest being from the All-Star break. There are many more that probably still to come. No matter what your game style or preference, 90% of those cards will be unusable for you. You can only have one RF.
Now, I am not one to defend SDS's ratings. I trashed them last year when neither Ozzie Smith Card even had 90 fielding. Clemente has the 3rd highest fielding rating for RF so far this year but there is no way that Bellinger or Parker should have higher defense.
Unfortunately, the game they seem to be playing this year is "Let's set the Contact and Power numbers to where we want them and then adjust the other stats to get the card where we want it."
And let's not pretend that, even though the cap is 99 that they don't have an internal scale that goes higher. I had a program made that tried to reverse engineer their formula. It has like a 98% to 99% accuracy rating. I had it extend the ratings to show and uncapped projection. Here are your 99 OVR RFs

99.04 — Luke KeaschallYou can look at them and notice that the older cards are the ones near the bottom and the newer ones at the top. Collection Cards are higher than free ones.
But to go back to my original point, I don't see how they prevent 90% of the cards from being unusable, by somebody's definition (because everyone has their own definition).

@Dolenz_PSN the easiest way would be to add a team building mode where you need to acquire different cards to build different teams.
Building different teams in turn improves your best team.
This way, you dont just need 13 players for your "god squad." You need many more players to build other teams and play with those teams.
(But apart from this idea, Id like them to stop making the same old cards the best...redesign things so its not the same archetype thats the best)
