I know it’s been said a lot but the CPU pitching is unbelievably bad. The amount of wild misses, plunking hitters, super dotting and sheer percentage of 3-2 counts is as unrealistic as it gets.

On higher difficulties is it normal to feel like there is a a noticeable delay between button pushes when swinging the bat and throwing pitches? Grinding for the buxton and devries and it feels like I need to anticipate button pushes as they just aren’t responsive.

In a game that relies on timing delay is a massive issue.

The pitching terrible no matter the difficulty. I always take until I get a strike. I'm also don't panic when I'm down 0-2 because almost always the cpu will fill the count and then super dot a fringe edge strike to strike me out or induce a weakouts or ground out.

    Conspiracy theory ahead

I have put 900+ hours into this game and have had similar hours played since 2020. I say this to add some "validation" to my claim.

I have never been more frustrated playing the CPU than I have this year. I started to feel like something was wrong or different this year with the CPU. Some days playing feel normal and usually that would be followed by 2 hit games weak grounders weak fly outs CPU defense becoming gods and catchers throwing out base runners. I hate stealing bases but on CPU difficult days if you don't steal you have 80% chance to hit into double play.

I felt like I was going crazy because how can I have days with 10 Perfect perfect, 5+ homers averages and the next day struggle for 2+ Perfect Perfects, 0+ home runs games

I am pretty confident that they alter the CPU difficulty hitting variables during new content releases. Would be pretty hard to convince me otherwise.

I don't know if I'm in the same boat as far as the content goes, I will say something similar: I would wager anything the CPU reads where your PCI is most of the time.

I will also swear that, on occasion, if the CPU calculates you've got your PCI correctly positioned, the type of pitch will change on the way in. Breaking balls "jump up" from the pitchers hand and they're extremely easy to pick up, and I have seen it do this only to blow by me at 101 as a FB.

When I’m playing CPU on veteran, I don’t wanna have to waste taking pitches. I wanna mash and get my grind over with. If I want a more realistic experience, that’s what HOF or legend is for or I’ll just play ranked. CPU pitching has been BRUTAL this year.

This "redirecting pitch" conspiracy is very apparent when bunting.

Problem is even on GOAT the CPU does the same erratic bs. Super dotting, plunking guys, wild pitches, and full counts on almost every hitter.
