I posted this in another thread, but something @dolenz_psn said got me thinking. How would we fix the Bot situation if we were SDS. For those that don't know here is how the Bots work...

They will harvest 1000s of cards however they can. (WBC Glitch, Cronus Zen for the high value catds) Resellers then sell them off on the marketplace, often close to quick sell. They will not quick sell them because of the attention that would draw. (Like SDS can't see the 100s of cards being sold for less then quick sell after tax.)
When the player buys stubs from one of the websites it's individual people selling them through that site. They take control of your account, go on the marketplace, take a card that has little to no buy or sell offers, they will then 'buy' the card with your account and turn around and resell it to their account for ever how many stubs are needed. That is why all these sites offer around 10% free, because it's never a exact number.

The 20 cap on cards sold only seems to have made it worse, so how about a cap on 'marketplace stubs' earned. Facturing in the cost of cards. Nothing is going to make 100% of people happy but something has to be done. SDS knows every move we make in this game and if they can calculate a formula to tell us how far a ball will fly, at what angle, in what wind speed, at what altitude, based on a button press... they can calculate a system based on average card prices and real player market active.

Obviously, it all starts with caring and wanting to fix it. But that's a different debate.

The basic problem is the community market is a false structure. Anything attached to the internet today and allows so-called free access to the tools to buy and sell items to millions of people is fraught with danger. Amazon broke the code on how to do that, but Amazon tightly controls who places items for sale. Only the purchase option is open to the public.

Your solution would try to put caps on both the supply and the demand. It would simply add to the artificiality. Here is how. SDS can place all the limits on stubs they care to. We already know about third party websites that sell stubs. Fake currency that can quite easily be counterfeited. Your proposal would simply drive more people to their hands and these are the same sort of people who engage in cyber crime.

2K Sports and EA don't have things like a community market. EA's CFB and NHL games don't even sell equipment. The entire logic to sell virtual equipment is utterly ridiculous it is a false reward existing in a false market. It has always been an open invitation to cyber crime.

I don't think removing the community market is an option. That and the live series system are what differentiate this game from the others. Good and bad.
My thinking with the stub cap was a basic how many real players make 100x average marketplace per card value a day. Or something like that. SDS can figure out the formula.
