Honest Review of MLB The Show 26

Actually wait my bad year it was Duran I had to buy him.
-
Next I’ve gotta talk about cpu pitching
In the show 24 they made some changes to how the cpu would pitch to you and it was also a miserable experience.. the cpu pitchers regardless of their attributes/ratings would consistently (at an unnatural rate) always have “just late or very late pitch release timing” and the pitch would either be way out of the zone or perfectly on the edge of the zone to the point that it made playing the game vs the cpu in every mode intolerable…
In 25 I had no problem with cpu pitching whatsoever.. no complaints…I completely agree with this statement. At the beginning of this year it was still good, but ever since they adjusted the strike zone, they also adjusted the cpu piotching where every CPU pitcher is dotting the ball on the edges no matter their rating. It has made hitting against CPU rage inducing and they need to change that.

If there is one thing I would like to point out that sds changed, it's the programs we have now that you can realistically complete without having to do all the moments or missions or the stupid pack rewards mini collections.
-
Until this game fixes all the other things and get dedicated servers it’s pretty much a laughing stock as far as online competitive play goes
-
my gripe with collections is you have series that have only 2 cards and need both when one was a chase card that you can't get anymore ( at least not easily its pack luck ) release more cards for these series put them in a conquest a 95 signature card of joe blow. or here is an idea if you manage to get a chase pack make it a chase card inside even some of the older ones would be better than my 12th max fried or make it one of the other cards like headliner or the special packs ( egg hunt, bullpen bash and so on ). The spotlight collections are just a joke the players you earn playing the game do you no good for the lightning players you need all the pack cards for that and you can never get enough packs to pull everyone you need. should have that a mix weighted more to the players you earn counting for that.
-
I want to be able to use a bigger portion of my cards. Force us to play with some of these other cards more. It cant be just meta cards being used online all the time. Creativity on their part would be my biggest gripe. That and lack of online programs.

I think games would be more interesting if you could select different tiers. Ranked-> Tiers ->Bronze/Silver, Silver/Gold, Gold/Diamond, Diamond/Red Diamond -> Build Lineup -> Find opponent.

@DemIsE4_XBL sad part, is the guys at the top are loyal if the money keeps coming in via streaming or views on YT. Let's be honest, if a new game came out that could provide more views and ultimately more money for the "streamers" they would jump ship and then you're left with the 780 and under guys because they just play games for enjoyment.
I've played the game long enough to remember when there were no guys on twitch, YT or any of those services. IMO, those guys have ruined the game for all of us mainly because SDS caters to the top 1% whilst completely ignoring the base. They will experience ups and downs but if they continue down this path, the online ranked will be a remote desert of elite 1% players and guys picking up the game for the first time.

I loved the Captains last year and how much they added. I used an entire Rockies lineup for the better part of a year because it juiced the hitting on some early cards enough to make them playable against 99's.
I think Captains is one area where they went backwards this year, they are now completely useless with the 99's being released because nobody in their right mind is plugging an 85-88 into their lineup, Jeff Bagwell, to juice their Yordan Alvarez.
-
@parky_8_PSN how do they only cater to the top 1 percent l. This game shouldn’t cater to players who don’t play much. The fanbases of these games are who made streamers popular.
-
@Apolloz_99_MLBTS if you want access to all the cards you have to "spend money" or "pay to play". The guys who are making money off the game will do this whereas the average person is likely not throwing their VISA number in to get the 500k Geraldo Perdomo or the 400k Willie McGee. Those two cards are off limits to anyone "casual"

I would disagree. I think they are catering to the offline players more than anything. Ive never seen so many mini seasons! Prior years there may have been a total of 6 all year.
They took away all the online programs. So this narrative needs to die.
