How is the Community Market feeling? (2)
-
What are they doing now? Market down for updates?!
The market always goes down on Tuesdays for the new headliner pack and the market also always goes down on content days
-
I really do appreciate the communication and all the work, @manu__sds_mlbts
The bots are back to pre-restrictions levels sadly.
-
I second the app being slow placing orders and agree that’s it probably a server related issue. My friend can place orders without issues but I’m fighting “processing” and “fetching data” constantly.
-
Yep bots have once again killed all the margins. Every fix makes a huge difference initially but then they are always back with a vengeance.
If killing all non console transactions takes out the bots for good then it needs to be done and people can either accept and adapt or move on. This back and forth with the bots is ridiculous.
In prior years I used the app a lot to flip but this year it’s been almost exclusively on the console and it’s doable once you adjust. The bots ruined a good thing but for long term market health it’s time to take them out for good. Disable all transactions that aren’t directly on the console. No app or show zone shenanigans.
-
The bots are back. Market margins are awful.
Bring back the restrictions you had before. The order limits on the app or whatever. Those seemed to be really effective—more effective than what’s currently in place, anyway.
It’s unfortunate that I am turning to other games to play while this is going on. It’s not worth playing the game and flipping cards if the bots ensure there is no profit to be made.
@manu__sds_mlbts please do something!

Maaan stop complaining about bots and move on to other cards!

Maaan stop complaining about bots and move on to other cards!
By what rationale should he or anyone else wanting to use the community market as intended "stop complaining" about bots? Of all the replies I have read at this community forum over the last several years, that one ranks high on the totem pole of replies that just beggars all belief!
-
I genuinely appreciate the interaction and effort SDS is showing here to counter these bots in the market. However, there is an elephant in the room that needs addressing. Had SDS shown a quarter of the interest, genuine pursuit of customer feedback, and a fraction of the direct action on those issues other game modes suffer, the overall state of MLB The Show would be dramatically better than it is.
The community market is merely one game mode among many. It is time for SDS to realize that RTTS, Franchise, Custom Uniforms, Custom Logos, and Stadium Creator have gone years without significant upgrades. Of these, RTTS and Franchise received some changes, but some at the cost of other things that were desired.
No one rationally expects every mode to be upgraded each year, but frankly no game mode should go five to six years without any upgrades, or even worse with significant bugs lingering for years. It's about balance, and that does not restrict itself to the balance sheet!

@PLY24MKR_XBL you cant move on because they are all over the place.
-
@PriorFir4383355_XBL I 100% agree… they can focus on other items at hand that need to be improved or fix rather than focusing on bots! Its almost been 3 months that they have been trying to fix the issue of bots and the only who have been affected is the true end user!
-
@DEF266_PSN Yes you can! Theres tons of items that you can flip! Now we are back to 4 cards max to post and you have to completely close comp app and reopen it to continue posting! Just not convinient at all! Complaining about bots has got us where we are and sds not focusing on other issues that has this years version of the game ome of the worsts!
-
@PLY24MKR_XBL to their credit they have addressed and been pretty good with communicating recently, more than we got any other year. Cheating that is more on the console company. If Manu is specifically focusing on the community market that is great and why this is pinned in the Community Market area and not Diamond Dynasty. Maybe we need more communication for actually game fixes but like in the past sometimes they fix something to soon it hurts something else.
-
I agree but right now being limited to 4 cards to post is ridiculous. People who use bots will always adapt their scrips.
-
@PLY24MKR_XBL your 100% right on that. They have adjusted.
-
Even though I want to give them a chance because of the great communication, I still have my doubts that any of this will work because of how adaptive people are with these scripts. It slows them down for few days and then they are back at it but then we are the ones restricted but the bots aren't. It's a game of whack a mole and it seems as if the honest players are the ones getting wacked. Let's give them some time to refine the restrictions before we get our pitchforks and blowtorches out. I gotta think the restrictions are here to stay.

4 cards is not a thing -
4 cards is not a thingPlease check the video linked in this other thread.

The exact same thing is happening to me
EDIT: Technically it's 5 orders and then a hard stop as shown. Still, 4 or 5, same experience.

@Manu__SDS_MLBTS the work that’s been done in the last week had undoubtably helped the integrity of the marketplace. I can appreciate that you’re fine tuning the filters so they don’t feel so restrictive. That being said, i think being able to place 3 or 4 bids a minute that have a 50% chance of going through is more important than being able to make 20 bids a minute that have a 2% chance of going through.
The past 2 days I have noticed bots on several items, but not like they were last week or before. I have only noticed a few bots that do the instant undercutting and deleting bids instantly - which is good. The bots I’m noticing now will wait 15-30 seconds after the last bid was placed and then will undercut by 1. When their bid wins, 15-30 seconds later it will make a new bid to remain the highest or lowest bidder… so instead of instant undercutting then deleting, this new behavior waits 15-30 seconds and makes a top bid. It they win or get outbid, wait 15-30 seconds and makes new top bid.
Obviously, humans need to be able to make their bids and move on to other items or play the game instead of babysit their bids. But this not behavior will win items around the clock. The last 2 nights I placed bids on some items I suspected having bots and my bids were still sitting the next day and looking at sale history I could see the items were won over and over with a bid slightly above mine.Anyways, I don’t mean to ramble. TL;DR - the bot situation is much improved but there are still bots noticeable on some items, but not all items like they have been most of 2026. Instead of instant outbids and undercuts, bots are waiting for no bids to be made for 30 seconds(ish) and placing top bids or placing new top bids when they win the item. 24/7
