SDS purposely tanked his price because they knew people would be investing in him. Its okay SDS you may have gotten us with this one but there is so many other ways for us to make stubs without buying them.
-
Did his price tank because hes in packs now? I didn't invest in Acuna but thats really dumb...press people to do a program, then just put the rewards in standard packs??
-
Honestly not surprising from a company that can’t even code their game properly to keep it from going offline constantly and basically rewarding cheaters by not banning them but screwing over the casuals trying to make some money without actually buying stubs
-
@JenkinMeyer_PSN Thanks a pretty big difference. Makes me think that offline players counts are much higher than I even thought they were, as I doubt most online players would skip the chance to get those cards free and also 75K in stubs and 90k XP.
A few things
- Acuna isn't a particularly good card
- the 75k stubs for most people is quite time consuming, I'm sure the completion for that was less than half of Acuna. Some people may have decided to skip the entire program if they weren't going to do it all
- This is something some casuals (even ones who regularly play online) may be inclined to ignore and just do whatever they were going to do either way. You could complete the majority of this game's content by accident, much less so with this program
I think it was a pretty good turnout.
I'm also shocked they dropped these cards into packs right away. Did not expect this. Maybe they rethought having cards behind time limited content after the response? Or maybe this was the plan all along. I rescind much of my complaining, but I stand firm that this could have been done a lot better
I do like this style of multi tier program though in general, they did it with Witt too but that release was awkwardly timed.
I fall into the #3 category.
-
Can anyone tell me why Casty is dropping in price? Should I immediately sell the dupe of him or continue to hold
-
@sbchamps17_NSW the Awards series is doing weird stuff rn bc they put Acuña in gold packs + he’s an event program guy so he’ll be re-released in rewind packs pretty soon
-
OK I'll wait a couple more days and see what happens, I got lucky and sold my dupe Acuna for 55K before he dropped
-
For those upset about Acuna being in packs, how does it affect you?
I'm sure a few "invested" in him and will no lose out, but for the rest, I don't see how it affects you.
I've got him, so him being in packs absolutely has zero effect on me however it may help some who didn't get him.
-
You put out a time-limited program and go "hey be quick, make sure you get this done in time to get the rewards!"
Then, you just release the card in packs right after its done? Thats so weak.
It makes it tough to trust the content they put out.
-
@NotesOfJohn_PSN the ppl who did enough of the program to get him feel like they got baited because the card’s availability turned out to not in fact be time limited at all
-
@On_a_Power_Trip_PSN Thanks for the reply.
I don't feel baited at all, and it genuinely doesn't affect me at all, but each to their own.
-
Would have been nice if Acuna remained exclusive and more valuable as a reward because of this new, timed-grind idea, I'm not mad. Just wish I could buy Joe Mauer for 30k.
-
I seem to enjoy the game more than. Others because I don’t worry about investing in cards
-
@On_a_Power_Trip_PSN there really was no point to this program if they just planned on killing it right after.

@On_a_Power_Trip_PSN there really was no point to this program if they just planned on killing it right after.
How'd they kill it?
- Online players could earn him for free playing the program
- Offline players or online players who did not want to bother with the program could simply buy him.
That is still the case for both types of players.
The only thing that will be affected is his price. If people invested in multiple Acuna's on the basis of an assumption then that was a risk they took.
The odds of pulling either card in a BIAH pack is 1 in 100.

Exactly they killed the price. What was the point of making it limited time just to turn around and basically cut his price substantially. There was no point of the program if you are just gonna kill the rewards immediately.

So the whole point of earning Acuna in the program was not to actually use him but get him simply to sell?
If you plan to use him or collect him then why does the price matter?
-
@Dolenz_PSN it matters because alot of people were buying him to invest and sds knew that, so they tanked his price. Once again as a greedy method to restrict stubs from people and in this case actually take stubs from people. It was natural for players to invest in what they thought was a time limit program to earn a card. Whether you can buy him or not.
This was a garbage, predatory move. Make something a time limited program, have people rush to get the card, to then put the card in biah packs. Who ever made the 75k stubs absolutely lost it. Because a ton of people also invested in acuna at 50 to 65k.
-
@Dolenz_PSN and if we don’t want to keep him or collect him? We are just sol?

People obviously play the game the way they want but again I seem to be more happy with the game because I don’t waste my time investing
Each time this year someone talks about investing they are not happy
