@Dolenz_PSN im mostly an offline player, everything you listed DOES suck, but theres still fun to be had online.
This thread is full of people who are mad that they are being asked to play online. The show has always been an online game.
Striking out 20 times and giving up HR's every time you throw a strike isn't fun to some.
There isn't any difference between a casual player that can't hit all star online to a competitive gamer that can't hit online legend. The competitive player isn't "forced" to play online legend.
Exactly

@rubicante23_PSN in as much as playing against stacked teams is how it trains you for multiplayer
I believe this.
I thought the same thing while playing some stacked rosters in Mural, and Cityscapes MS! I think i could 'hang' online, at least pitching-wise, and it made me bear down and work the corners more. If I didn't completely stink at baserunning in this game, or could get better PCI placement, I'd give multiplayer at try for sure. It's scary how my timing is almost always good, but placement issues are an issue.
I apologize for my previous post, SDS. It's just that we were told to stay tuned, and get the unwanted invite to multiplayer. -
Why cheat in a video game? THIS. This is EXACTLY why people cheat in a video game.
It's like they made this program just to reward them. And forcing the rest of us online into the cheater's den. It's already showing in Moonshot.
Wow!
Correct, basically this is SDS doubling down, won't fix the Hader/King glitches, won't fix the server issues, or the bots but hey here's a program where you need to play online and win (at least) 2 games against someone in RS... have fun against King/Hader.
O and you have 4 days to get it done.
Ridiculous SDS

@blitz77tw_PSN did you forget to apply for a job again this summer?
️ -
Just add offline missions with higher stat requirements and problem solved Joe. It’s as easy as that.
-
@sds_joek_psn Also unless i'm missing something the new Event Program has a final reward at 100, you can only earn 95 points.

I get the reverse argument that online players have to play offline stuff to unlock cards they want. There should be more online options for the same cards as well. Not every card...I know in the past I saw juicy cards in online-only stuff, but I was ok with that because I had plenty of stuff to do offline to get similar cards. The problem now is the offline content feels like a complete afterthought. Lots of hype for this Friday! Oh look, both Themed programs are ONLINE. New mini-season with 1 card reward with the same PXP requirement as all the other mini-seasons. New Spotlight with the same easy PXP requirement. I don't even look at Spotlight progress anymore because I know it gets done after a couple of games. I swear as an offline player who loved this game for over a decade I feel like SDS just ripped the money out of my hand then turned around and took a dump on it.
-
Let me break down this entire thread for everyone that doesnt want to read the comments. More crying and complaining from the offline community players. Get your a s s e s online or go play something else. Us online players have to play countless hours of mini seasons, conquest etc. So i can care less about you babies crying. Yeah i said it. all you offline players can block me. Im tired of playing offline.
The thing is that I actually agree with you. But not as a “this or that” argument. Why do any of these programs have to be completed in only one way? Why not say 2SB in any multiplayer game mode or 6 SB in any single payer game mode. Something like that?
Heck even conquest/miniseason rewards. Why not make them have a concurrent multiplier option as well, not instead.
And I think we all agree DQ is the dumbest thing ever. Until they figure out how to make RNG a lot more forgiving.
Ultimately, at the end of the day, you shouldn’t be forced to play offline to get cards; I shouldn’t have to be forced to play online to get cards. We both paid money to play this game the way we wanted to.

I’m just one player…
But, I’ve done 3 surveys. Each one, I’ve said MORE OFFLINE XP. Every time.
I don’t do online. Will never do online. And at this rate, I’ll be taking a year off from my Deluxe purchase of The Show.
Just give enough XP so each and every program can be completed online or offline. How hard is it?
-
@TripleH-4481_PSN Exactly.
It's baffling that they thought this was good.Literally give an option for and none of this happens.
Has their been a more self destructive gaming company?
-
@Precisionist99_XBL they force online payers to play offline to complete collections. 3ks vs having to complete multiple missions just unlock a player to use for missions for the next player. But sure I guess offline has it rough when it comes to that.
-
Overall program is good… being time based/ limited to a weekend in the summer is gayyyyy
-
I've played every year since 2018 and I generally buy the $100 edition. I'm an offline player and this year and it's content is a giant middle finger to me and other DD offline players. F U SDS. I'm out and so are my dollars.
P. S. Having the same game breaking bugs for years is shameful. -
@Teak2112_MLBTS who is gonna complain when it’s a cake walk to complete everything.
-

Not all offline players have a choice to play online.
All online players have a choice to play offline.
Now for a player like me, I simply choose not to play online. That decision is on me. But if a player has the T-Mobile issue or can't afford the monthly cost of PS Plus then they are out of luck.
So in the end it is not equal in it's effects. Hybrid programs that require both offline and online goals will essentially not be able to be completed by some offline players while 100% of the online players can finish it, even if they don't enjoy it.
-
@Apolloz_99_MLBTS I agree. Take the marte collection. Between the miniseaosn, DQ, and conquest that was probably over 12 hours of forced offline gameplay. Theres one of these collections every couple weeks, while there is an event that only last a few days amd its 50/50 if there is an event available, they removed the br program, and the multi-player program is extremely short.
I think theres been vastly more offline content than online, plus you can buy every online card. I cant buy conquest or miniseaon cards.
-
Everyone can play offline, many in the community cannot play online.
That's the distinction.Culture wars about offline vs online are so lame.
-
@samguenther1987_PSN do you really believe every online game has those two pitchers at all times?
-
@NotesOfJohn_PSN when was the last time you made a post and didn’t complain like a spoiled kid about something? 2023? Honest question.
-
@samguenther1987_PSN do you really believe every online game has those two pitchers at all times?
I don't know, I don't play online that much but i've heard/seen videos. I guess there may be some who have some integrity.
Why are you so condescending?
