Why can’t we go the route gta did and put a game out and then work on the next release but make it an every other year release? I understand making money but your game is a$$ and it’s literally just a roster update and a few additions that are stupid anyway. Why not make dlc and give it through out the game cycle until you complete an actual polished finished game? You’re so dependent on micro transactions anyways. This is the same game since 20 and they’ve literally just added downloadable content each year and nothing worth spending additional $70+ a year. I think if you announced your next release is a 2 year project you would get more people to buy micro transactions. GTA 5 has been out for 13 effen years!!!! They add content and dlc and people buy it!!!! They are finally releasing 6 and nobody is going to bat an eye about the $80 price tag. This game can do the same just add dlc packs and spend an extra year perfecting your game. This game isn’t even half cooked it’s still raw and infested with bugs!! I feel your iq has to be 70 or below to work at sds

Taking '27 off and coming back STRONG for '28 wouldn't be the worst idea ever, honestly. That being said, work on '27 is already in full swing.

Yea if there is a lockout and they can scrap 27 it would be the best thing for sds. They can push they have to take this year off due to lock out but will be back in 28. Now you have 2 years to work and develop a polished game with actual additions and fixes. In the meanwhile dedicate a team to dlc for 26 and continue the roster updates and add micro transactions that are reasonable and worth it. People are going to buy it as long as you can communicate with the community and stay present. Hire a good pr person or something!!!! -

Not the best example but PGA 2K is a bi-yearly title and I have no issues with that.
I would be all for skipping 27, getting a polished game in 28, and use 26 as a filler for the baseball itch. One can dream

Idk about it. There’s only so many cards in the game everyone would have a 99 and people really like their switch hitters. Would they reset the overalls after the first year or continue to make everyone a 99?
They’d have to nuke micro transactions. GTA you can drop $100 and pretty much get anything you want. Ohtani in this game is like $400 alone and people don’t use him.
GTA there’s actually a way to make money. It’s hard in this game to make stubs actually playing the game. You can’t really compare gta and mlb their budgets are so different. I think at one point gta was making $5 mill a day mlb could only wish for that lol

Exactly!!! And 2k adds dlc for people to purchase. I agree not the best example but they do it lol. This would relieve pressure on your employees to be forced to push out a game to save their jobs. You don’t make money of game sells anymore you make it off of micro transactions. The best way to keep micro transactions going is to not make yearly releases and just add stuff to current game while working on a multi year project that’s polished. Now when you put out that game that has way fewer bugs way more polished your consumer is happy and excited and would have no problem spending money on a game that’s running correctly and waiting an extra year to get the next better version!! -

I agree 100% there would have to be some brainstorming and kinks to work out but yes maybe adding new content like a salary cap mode where you have to manage a budget for your dd team so it forces you to use golds and silvers. This would be a mode where you feel like an actual gm and have to manage things correctly to get a good team. It forces you to not be able to have all 99’s and you have to play chess and see what fits. Then add maybe like a battle pass yea disgusting and a money grab lol but if your taking a year off then I think it’s ok and worth it. But I think there’s so many options if you have a good content team to work on that you can make so much more money in the long run. -
GTA is a strange example to make. Each GTA game is a completely new experience. And the reason GTA6 has taken so long to come out is rockstar is content to milk GTA Online dry, why should they make something new when the suckers keep spending ridiculous amounts?
WWE 2K is the better example, they hit rock bottom, took a year off, and came back with their best received product. That was before they introduced their abysmal my faction and island modes though.
In the end its all about $. My suspicion is that player engagement is down but spending is up. Which is fine with Papa Sony.
I don't know if a year off is necessarily needed, I think the issues are with the budget. Papa Sony is stingy after all their live service flops.

People complain now, when there isnt any content for a week, imagine the complaints when theyre isnt any content for a year
No Ranked, no Events, nothing for a whole year.
