Same old stuff

I don't understand your point. Ranked and BR were always monthly, now it's ranked and MP program which continue to be monthly.
The only thing that wasn't was events which I agree they have massively F'd up on this year.
But all the content released was single player -
Well, they are doing a new Event every week now - no more dead space, thats a huge positive. Not nearly enough people seem to play Events though - its a great grind, I dont know why its not more played
-
The reasons I've seen people complaining about events
1 - Casuals are upset about the matchmaking
2 - The programs offer very little in value
3 - Exit velos are nerfed
4 - Few to no restrictions so it's just everyone playing their god squads anyways
5 - Can't find an opponent at all -
@xRatedGProdigyx_PSN "few to no restrictions" is right - there are so many cool Event ideas, and instead its always "play with whoever you want...". Crazy.
I don't think exit velocities are very nerfed - people score like theyre at an old west brothel on this all star difficulty.

@rubicante23_PSN I have finally reached my breaking point. I dont want to play anymore. I do not want to grind the same offline programs all over again to do collections. And events multi player program is basically finished with 25 days to go. Besides some wheel spins that are going to give me the worst item everytime anyway. No longer worth it. I can care less about getting another 100 show packs that will be absolutely worthless. I Think im done. If you didnt spend money or pull ohtani its a wrap for everyone. Now even all the rare live series cards are worthless, pulling them does nothing for you either. Besides the two bosses.

Meanwhile YouTube keeps recommending me shorts on yfk, troydeeboy, and various streamers all pulling Ohtani, Ted Simmons, and other lucrative pulls on a daily basis. MMG pulling Ohtani two out of three packs. We're here just grateful for a silver in our packs, haha.

@Ditka06-_MLBTS Honestly man I feel this. I'll keep playing anyway, but totally hear you. we're gonna some how get 4+ more months of content...It's harder than ever to want to play the CPU for whatever reason for me too. meh.

Well, we're not going to get any innovative, groundbreaking new modes or ways to get our baseball fix at this point here, so either stop playing, or explore another sports game. Maybe the free (through PSN) Soccer game? Maybe delve into NHL, although it's June and diving into HUT now may be overwhelming, plus there's a salary cap.
Lower your expectations and you won't be let down.
Personally, i still love the game modes here in DD. If it's become stale, just walk away, like the very sad Dokken song, or come up with some ideas yourself that would appease you and your baseball fix. Go to the batting cages if available! Heck, ball up some pieces of paper, get a broomstick and flail away! Give your sausage fingers something new to do, other than hit X, O, triangle, or L2, etc. 🤪 -
@TheGoaler_PSN Thanks for the reply.
I'll look into those options.
I played 2K exclusively for many years before switching to The Show, however it's becoming a chore rather than fun, sadly.I struggle with games that aren't sport, and won't go near any 2K games so the pool is pretty small.

If your whole thing is that you want a long online grind - the Event is exactly that. And they added wheel spins so there's something to get. Im not sure what you want the reward to be - its not gonna be chase packs every time.
I agree that the new content could be different or innovative and it hardly ever is....but there is an online grind.
-
The Community: The content is so repetitive! We're sick of the same exact thing every year!
Also the Community: Hey, when is the shark map coming out? Ooh, I wonder who the next big collection reward is!

I get what you're trying to say, but those are annual things and have been for some time.
IMHO, what the community is more or less upset over is the fact that every "content" drop in between the big ones is the same, that's all. I look forward to the big ones like the Shark Map, or the L&F collection etc, as do many people.
I think the larger problem is that right now, the already-thin dev team is being instructed to prioritize the mobile game. Personally, I would have worried about getting your main bread winner fixed up before trying to diversify into other sects of gaming. But I'm just a lowly peon, what do I know

Not defending SDS at all but I'm not sure what they can do aside from cone up with a new mode, which they did with Diamond Quest. How many years of conquest maps and how many new names of collections can they come up with? At the end of the day it's baseball and the names, outside of rookies, aren't going to change year to year so I think its naturally going to feel stale.
This week's content drop was pretty decent as far as stuff to do but I agree with mixing up the players better than they are. Instead of trying to reinvent the wheel, I think going back to the old TA model that made you unlock players starting at the common and grinding stats to earn the next level up. Also make some maps that requires some creativity in line ups with rewards for using certain cards. For example a NL east map that requires using only NL East cards.

While I strongly disagree with what Ditka says from time to time, I can't understand SDS decision to have so many no sell cards behind offline modes. This year has really doubled down with trying to get everyone to play all modes, and its impacting online players heavily.
Ive played for the first time in over a month the last couple days, and I personally like the big conquest map which has decent rewards throughout. But for a lot of people its just not fun. Same goes for mini season, and if you want collections mini season is unskippable.
And while I am occasionally in the mood to play online, it goes in spurts and in just weird human nature the more I feel forced to do something, the less likely I am to do it (especially while having fun). It makes things feel like a chore, and not fun.
I think 99% of cards should be obtained by playing the modes you want to enjoy. I know some competitive people feel the need to be rewarded with exclusive cards, but all this does is cause unhappiness in the community in the long run as you can see coming to a head this year. Just embrace play your way.
People say complaints happen no matter what, and this is absolutely true, but the frustration is clearly deeper this year.
-
@Teak2112_MLBTS at least you agree with some things I say lol. But yes. I am literally forced to play an extreme amount of mini seasons this year, and conguest, to finish collections. They used to put way more cards into the programs. Now its play every single mode, spend stubs on 15 other cards, to finish the collections. Now on top of mini seasons I have to play a 14 game conquest and I think another conquest if I want this collection..

Maybe the free (through PSN) Soccer game?
There's always Rocket League for that LOL. I help run one of the amateur draft style leagues.
