20 Card Max

@JenkinMeyer_PSN Some things have been deceptive. The 20 player cap was never mentioned or even addressed for that matter. Other things have been flat out lies, like shrinkage. This is the worst year of MLB the Show and it’s not close. I’ve never felt this way about my favorite game.

Yeah I mean you and I are in total agreement.

@ApolloZ_99_MLBTS othering us doesn’t mean our view is invalid. I have no problem with them making changes to the game. But be open and honest about it.
Personally shrinkage is not a major deal to me. I get struck out by it a lot. But it’s also better than foul ball fest happening. However, I don’t belittle the folks who find it to be a big deal. I am mature enough to recognize that there are differing views and that my experience is not universal, that it is mine. If you don’t agree with anyone about SDS being scummy towards stub making that isn’t a monetary transaction in their favor that’s fine. Don’t other us and call us names.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but last year at the first roster update, didn’t they like artificially make a lot of live series players diamonds and that pisses a bunch of people off too? It basically lowered the chance of getting high diamonds in the packs. Something like that. Right?
I am 100% on board with the thought that SDS tankers with ratings and they aren’t really based on anything. But I’m just trying to figure out what’s more annoying: too many diamonds or too few.
-
Last year there was an early update that was extremely inflated and several players went diamond who had shaky stats to back them up. I’m not sure if it was the first or second one. This one was the opposite. But whatever, they’ve made it clear what they think of getting stubs from any method that isn’t buying. And forget about grinding hard and getting to rewards early to sell them for a tidy sum. Their bot bros have that market cornered. I have nearly 100% of content completed offline, had MP path done in the previous iteration, and am working my way through it now. I’m not making a ton of stubs through those methods. I will keep plugging away and figure it out as I go.

@LHUBison58_XBL actually no. Your views are in the minority on this subject. There is a huge difference between having a different view and being in the extreme minority. This is equivalent to 10 people on a boat saying wow the water looks really blue today. And I come out and say ehhhh its pink. Dont be that person..
-
@Ditka06_MLBTS I never once mentioned majority or minorities. I have a point of view. I share it. I don’t other or name call anyone else with a different view. I get that you don’t agree. That’s okay with me. I have caught SDS doing something shady af. I’ll post about it. I don’t need a majority of agreement. Many folks around here like to shout down dissent. I witnessed it over the allegations of bots. People belittled others for saying they experienced it. Then a streamer outs the existence of bots. I didn’t see many apologies on the subject.
It’s okay to see things differently.
And the investment discord I am in has more active members in it at 7am est than this place has total. Big fish small pond and all.
-
@LHUBison58_XBL I haven’t been against shrinkage in the past. My problem now is they lied about it.
-
@LHUBison58_XBL The first update is the longest period of the year. Last year, there were 11 new diamonds. I don’t think that many earned it this year, but what they did was gross and blatantly greedy. It’s ruined the entire fun of roster updates in my eyes. I don’t how much time this game cycle has left for me. Nothing is fun about this year.

We're now into June, the market is a disaster, and we've only had one roster update. The number of Diamonds during that one was historically low.
Some of us warned you that SDS had turned into a garbage company. You didn't want to believe it, and here we are.
Those of us sitting on the sidelines this season are the only ones winning. We can pick up your used copies of the game for $10 on eBay later and get 99 rosters without falling for the blatant grift. And I may not even do that as I'm no longer playing the old games, either.
SDS legitimately lost me as a customer. I hope they're losing a ton. They deserve it.

Look, some people don't care because they pour money into getting cards/stubs and that's fine- it's what the store exists for. Others, like myself prefer NMS because let's face it, game's expensive enough already.
Since the large staff turnover three years ago, there's been a gradual not-so-subtle push towards Pay 2 Earn model. Fine, they've got to think about shareholders and bottom line etc...but this year, it appears to have crossed the line between "business first" and "anti-consumer", especially with the card cap combined with increasing the time between updates (again), and very clearly not bumping players that deserve it, and keeping gatekeepers at absolutely undeserving ratings (Cal Raleigh, for example), and the bots in the market literally eliminating margins.
Now there's still ways to make stubs without using the market...DQ for example is half decent, and conquest is potentially good well...that being said, I've never seen a dev team nuke their own in game economy in such a blatant attempt to force people into the MTX shop.

It’s like they’re trying to destroy their own product.
