Which MLB the Show was best for offline grinders ?
-
2023 out of the 6 still running, 2021 is second
-Best gameplay of them all
-21 and 23 had the best TA model
-2023 for card quantity, 2021 for card quality
-2023 had some fun niche captains, and the most consistent supply of theme team captains
-Programs in 2023 actually took some effort
-2021 had the current legends and flashbacks model, 2023 had the big collections
-biggest knock on 2021 is lack of mini seasons, 2023 was great for mini seasonsbut go back and look at what programs used to look like in 2023, and then compare to 2026. So sad what this game has become in such a short time in terms of rewarding players.

Honestly any but the last 3. The gameplay XP was nerfed into the ground and the “actual” pull rates in packs was also altered.

The best
16, 17, 21, 23.The worst
18 and 2624 and 25 were both bad, but because of how terrible this year has been they look like goty candidates.

Define best.
I was not the biggest fan of sets and seasons but one of those years was the only year that I have ever been able to complete the live series collection. Still took me all year but I was able to do it.

24 because if you played a 9 inning game against cpu you could get some good cards also i liked that for team affinity there where there were free packs that gave you finest, all star, spotlight

I think ‘21 was the year I maxed out at 6M stubs. I’ve never done that before or since.
-
@The412Smoke_XBL I wish I wasn’t so young dumb and casual back then.
-
At least they’ve taken off the daily XP cap that was way too low for a couple years.
-
@Teak2112_MLBTS I miss the old team affinity. It gave you something to actually grind for and use themed teams with the repeatable missions.

I agree with the 21 & 23 post. I forgot which one had the TA connected with March to October but that's pretty much all I did in that one because it was so fun to try and mold franchises into playoff contenders in just a few nights, and actually get rewarded for it (TA completions, playing xp). I don't remember anyone complaining about not reaching the Inning bosses back then, and the following posts telling people to get better, adapt their playstyle, or grind harder. In fact I think the only thing on the boards was people bitching about online play after losing one game, I don't even think I looked at the boards much back then, no reason to.
