How are you doing with the XP Reward Path?
-
Gave up on it for this inning. Saving Program XP for the next one, although it’s doubtful I will play the game enough to complete the path the rest of the year. Feels good to have broken my MLB FOMO habit. Mostly doing other things. Will play Forza and a few other games, plus reading and watching real baseball a lot.

If you're not completing the path, you're just not playing the game enough. And thats fine, there's nothing wrong with that - you're probably doing something better instead, so good for you.
But dont come in complaining that its just so hard.

You aren't wrong, but its also true that the path requires far more investment than previous years for less return.
Thats my bigger issue, the path itself sucks.

I have 40k xp to go and was going to grind it out over the weekend until I noticed that it didn’t seem possible since I let my online pass lapse. I only played online when events required it and it just wasn’t enjoyable for me to get crushed every game. Ive kept playing online in the past because I hoped things would get fixed to improve the game but it seems pretty clear that nobody is fixing or improving anything. I know the multiplayer inning is based on online stuff but didn’t realize the offline inning requires multiple xp rewards from events and battle royal. Even with double xp it seemed unreachable so I didn’t even try to grind. I like this game so much and so fed up with it at the same time. I hate to say it, and not like anybody cares, but I’m losing interest. fast.
-
The problem is IF your an offline player after you do the offline stuff - conquests , MS etc it's just a pure mind numbing grind.
My solution is this -- make the XP rewards a little better like example the weekly Spotlight instead of 2500 make it 3k --- Conquest maps 5k instead of 4k - -they were 5k last year most of them if i recall. -- then buff raw XP gain by 10 to 15% and then keep the XP path at 400k. Also extend Double XP at least one more day IF you cannot have the class to make it like last year and do it for a week.
Kind of simple but NOPE SDS are scumbags -- cause mark my words within 2 months everything will change after the realize they have milked you all for what your worth.

Just make the boss free at this point
-
Xp spins all messed up? It said I got a 85 plus live series pack and it isn’t in my inventory
-
After all the justified criticism of the lack of XP in Innings two, how are we all doing this innings?
They reduced the amount needed for the boss, although the lack of XP (due to a lack of consistent content) is still a real issue.
So, where are we all at?
Still 40k away….

393,831 xp total

Not sure where to post this, but I guess it’s related to this XP Path thread….
Just played a 9 inning Cityscape mini season game. On Veteran. scored 10 runs on 15 hits. Gave up 2. Got a 3-inning save out of it. Homers, doubles, triples, stolen bases.
Got 2,167 XP. You read that right. 2-1-6-7.
Sheesh. And for that, I just passed the 320k mark and got (drum roll please)….1500 stubs.
At this rate, I’ll need to play at about 10 more 9 inning mini season games to JUST GET the Live Series 85+ pack.
This is ridiculous. I have stronger words, but they’d be censored.
-
You had a whole month. Plus double xp weekend. Plenty of people made it. Especially since they lowered it by 100k. So by all means use those strong words you use on every inconvenience.
-
Just got there ... scraping every team affinity and wbc xp I had left still to complete. This is my first boss claimed this year. All done offline as I can't dependably play online ... need to be able to put switch 2 down at moment's notice to help with family life.

Finally finished last night after completing the new conquest.
-
I'm about 350k but I haven't tried to finish it or I would. Definitely easier than last time though.

This highlights the biggest problem with XP this year. I have had the same routine for years which is to play roughly 5 hours per session about 3-4 times per week. In years past I would earn 20-25K XP of game XP in a typical session. This year I'm getting about 10k for the same amount of time played.
-
There's never anything on the XP path that I covet other than potentially selling the final bosses if I get there. The 85 Live Series was a decent reward but I knew ahead of time that I was gonna get an 85 before I reached that point (which I did, Jacob Wilson).
Personally, I'm shifting to playing less overall but more online. The offline grind isn't worth it at all for me anymore and I don't have the stamina nor time to play extensively online. Probably better for me anyway, need more mental stimulation lol.

@dfwrazorback_MLBTS what are you playing for 5 hrs and only getting 10k. You could win a mini season and get more than that.

I was mid-typing this same sort of response.
Ladies and gentlemen, if you’re not getting the final XP reward each inning it’s due to one of two things:
-
Not playing enough. Which is fine. Some of us are grown adults who don’t want or need to be playing video games as much as I, also a grown adult, do. But if this is you, don’t complain. The fix is to play more, as it really should be. You get rewarded for playing, not existing.
-
Not being efficient with your play time. I’ve mentioned this numerous times in other threads, but you should be able to meet the XP requirements just by playing mini seasons. Just by repeating conquests. Things like that. Honestly, efficient plays vs. CPU games could work.
Now I will admit, there could be a whole number of reasons why either reason one or two are happening, but “lack of content“ and “it’s too hard“ or pretty much any other reason are not legitimate complaints when it comes to not completing the XP path.

The bonus XP rewards for mini seasons and conquests aren't repeatable. I have completed every mini season so when I replay one for the other repeatable rewards the XP I get from just game XP is about 10k in a typical evening which is about half what I would get in previous years. Again, I'm just talking about game XP and not the one off bonus XP from programs, conquests and mini seasons. As it happens I just got to 400k last night. Before this year I would have had multiple wheel spins by the end of an inning.

After the Double XP weekend I hit 320k. Might have had a shot had they extended double XP through the end of the inning but alas.
