JACOB DEGROM 100TH WIN SHOWDOWN IS NOW LIVE
-
@rubicante23_PSN you can make 40k in the same time doing diamond quest.
-
@ryguy034753_XBL yeah, I guess if you just do GOAT difficulty and are good enough to reliably win (which is asking a lot)....but good point.
-
I just love content that helps really good players get richer by preying on those who can't complete the challenge and are forced to just buy the card from the good players
How can I earn stubs to be able to afford the post glitch 250k price on Ted Simmons?
-
I mean, this Showdown does feel a little bit like SDS apologizing to the top 15 percent of players for the glitch. Its like "hey guys, look...stubs to make quick! play this!"
-
Well first off, in your case: you need to start playing. You don’t play much if at all
-
@SDS_JoeK_PSN this is what yall chose to communicate about? Nothing else happened this week that may have warranted a comment from the dev team?
-
Well first off, in your case: you need to start playing. You don’t play much if at all
Well, you have me there.
It has been a combination of other games (Crimson Desert, Forza Horizon 6, 007 First Light, and a few others) and the focus of this years game.
Honestly, and this is just a me thing, I hate when earning stubs is the main motivation for playing the game. I prefer it when earning stubs is a secondary benefit of doing programs to earn cards. I don't want to focus on programs where all the rewards are for cards I don't want or need and are all no sell. For example if playing to earn a free Tyler O'Neill would earn me some stubs to buy Terry Pendleton then that would be fine.
But as a Cardinals fan you know how it has gone
Simmons - Pack
Pendleton - Pack
O'Neill - Pack
Torres - pack
Walker - pack
Church - packThat's just in like the last month.
And I am the type of game player where if I am not feeling it or I sit down and start playing and am not enjoying myself thrn I simply close the game. Not just this one but any of them. Its one of the reasons I avoid online modes.
-
Let's just appreciate that the Showdown menus actually work now. Miracles do happen.
-
@rubicante23_PSN other than that that’s bare minimum stuff I 100% agree with you
-
Got him on my second attempt. Had his pitch count at 150 and it came down to the last out. For a blind 51 year old with slow reflexes that was tough lol.
-
Yeah, I failed just needing a single on the first time, got him second try.
Some tips - draft all left handed hitters, always steal - they won't even throw until score is close (when score close, pinch run with speed)
I decided to keep and not sell the first one - just cause I was afraid I'd suddenly start playing sucky and lose the next 3 tries, lol
-
@rubicante23_PSN I didn’t even consider stealing cuz I am the worlds worst baserunner. I’m serious when I start running really weird [censored] happens.
-
@platewelder_363_MLBTS but just so you know - they won't even throw until you're within 4 runs. They'll just let you steal on defensive indifference. Gotta do that - avoid the dp.
This showdown is made way easier because degrom throws SO many fastballs too. This would be murder if it were like Halladay throwing a bunch of different pitches.
-
@rubicante23_PSN agreed I noticed that as well.
-
@ryguy034753_XBL Nah, thats way harder and the odds are trash. Even if you have 90 plus percent chance you only get the card like half the time, how does that make sense? The Showdown is pretty easy, and you always get the card.
-
Man I’m bad at this game… lol. Or at least this showdown. I’ve only done it twice, and I can’t even beat the first DeGrom…
️ -
My advice for people is that if this is too hard just wait a day when the card is worth low teens.
True. I tried one time for kicks, got to 43 runs. I was happy just to score. I think I could get there... Just not sure how much effort I want to spend.
