JACOB DEGROM 100TH WIN SHOWDOWN IS NOW LIVE
-
Offline content that is a challenge and sellable is a huge W. Hope we see more of this.
-
@Pergo_MLBTS agreed. Offline shouldn't mean Easy Mode. Its great getting something actually challenging offline. This isn't really that extreme, either - really good players will get it first try...good players will get it 2nd try...and the other 50 percent of the players base just cant hit hof at all.
-
My advice for people trying this one. Be patient and sit fastball. In my run through Degrom threw 74% fastballs out of the 126 pitches. And as the pitch count goes up the speed drops a few mph and he grooves a lot of fastballs for you.
-
EVERY showdown the top Diff has been Vet -- NOW your forcing / pushing players into doing harder stuff.
I guess play the way you want means jack -- have 2 versions of the showdown one ez that has a NON sellable card -- Vet for first one and All Star for 2nd then a sellable one for a sweaty players.
How is it that you keep finding a way to tick the players off ??
Also if the fanboys and others want to flame me for this take -- I do not care -- SDS = TRASH
-
Going to farm this showdown until it’s not worth it
-
It’s just unbelievably tone deaf on their part. They almost have to be trolling at this point. No doubt they are pissed off at the community in general after that WBC glitch circus.
-
My advice for people is that if this is too hard just wait a day when the card is worth low teens.
-
IMO, the answer to this kind of stuff is to let US choose the difficulty we want to play on
Of course, you choose a higher difficulty, you get better rewards. As suggested, a non-sellable vs sellable version. Extra stubs. More XP.
Some of these things are so so so easy. Low hanging fruit ( as they say) easy….
-
I'm already checked out this year anyway. In general I think its fine to have this sort of thing from time to time, more difficult content for the people that want it to make a quick stub grab. I think a long grind as a third option would have been far better, but whatever.
Its midweek content, and its a sellable showdown reward. These things are wins.
-
@blitz77tw_PSN guy you don't need every card in the game, don't get it if you don't want to. If you suck and still want it you have 2 options bunt cheese using the perk you can get or just buy it for 25k stubs.
-
I can’t remember which year it was but they did this sort of challenge with Jansen. It was so frustrating but also very rewarding and cool I don’t think we got a card out of it but he was the final boss and it was cool to be challenged offline
-
This showdown is easy money for really good players though - 30k every half hour? This is grind city for the next day. Thats not gonna do much to bring prices down, lol
-
@rubicante23_PSN you can make 40k in the same time doing diamond quest.
-
@ryguy034753_XBL yeah, I guess if you just do GOAT difficulty and are good enough to reliably win (which is asking a lot)....but good point.
-
I just love content that helps really good players get richer by preying on those who can't complete the challenge and are forced to just buy the card from the good players
How can I earn stubs to be able to afford the post glitch 250k price on Ted Simmons?
-
I mean, this Showdown does feel a little bit like SDS apologizing to the top 15 percent of players for the glitch. Its like "hey guys, look...stubs to make quick! play this!"
-
Well first off, in your case: you need to start playing. You don’t play much if at all
-
@SDS_JoeK_PSN this is what yall chose to communicate about? Nothing else happened this week that may have warranted a comment from the dev team?
-
Well first off, in your case: you need to start playing. You don’t play much if at all
Well, you have me there.
It has been a combination of other games (Crimson Desert, Forza Horizon 6, 007 First Light, and a few others) and the focus of this years game.
Honestly, and this is just a me thing, I hate when earning stubs is the main motivation for playing the game. I prefer it when earning stubs is a secondary benefit of doing programs to earn cards. I don't want to focus on programs where all the rewards are for cards I don't want or need and are all no sell. For example if playing to earn a free Tyler O'Neill would earn me some stubs to buy Terry Pendleton then that would be fine.
But as a Cardinals fan you know how it has gone
Simmons - Pack
Pendleton - Pack
O'Neill - Pack
Torres - pack
Walker - pack
Church - packThat's just in like the last month.
And I am the type of game player where if I am not feeling it or I sit down and start playing and am not enjoying myself thrn I simply close the game. Not just this one but any of them. Its one of the reasons I avoid online modes.

Let's just appreciate that the Showdown menus actually work now. Miracles do happen.
