Unfortunately most of those games were not designed around online H2H play. That completely changes everything. When you can put all your resources into other aspects of the game and just kind have an online section and let players connect themselves through peer to peer matchups instead of letting a match making system do it and pit you against someone with a 200ms ping, makes a huge difference. Back in MVP baseball if I didnt want to play someone with a high ping I didnt have to. That kind of matchup now is unfortunately not possible.

But as far as offline content goes, yes games were much better back then. That is were the money went. But I also heard and read about how amazing this game was before the online play really got turned up too. before DD days.

MVP 2005 is a great game, The Show actually bite some gameplay elements from that game... Personally though, some versions of the Show beat out MVP 2005, as a matter of fact I still own a copy of MVP on my original Xbox, but the Show just beats it out... 16-17 specifically just play better than MVP 2005

EA probably would have screwed it’s up .. I have no faith in EA .. But I’m totally with you, MVP 2005 is a classic ...
