When are we going to get the actual coaches for each team?

So get the deals done?
This community constantly says stuff like, “it’s a small studio”, “they don’t have that many employees”…
Guys, they produce one of the top selling video games every year. There is absolutely no excuse for them to be skimping out on basic features in their game.
They get the “small studio” excuse for everything when they are really just making an insane amount of profit and not putting much of any of it back into the product. And then this community comes in and defends that.
Just crazy. If you guys want a better game. Stop defending this company when they’re being lazy and cheap.
There is a difference between defending the company and understanding how business works.
No developer is going to sign deals with every single manager/coach/player regardless of the cost, just because players want them to. They aren't going to send out employees and equipment to every team to face scan every player. They aren't going to be able to hire a massive QA staff to ensure there isn't any bugs in the game.
The 'excuse', as you call it, is finding a happy medium between costs, profits and expectations. They don't make games out of the goodness of their hearts. They want to make money.
If you can't abide by this fact, you should absolutely not spend your money on this game and use it on something else. That is how capitalism works. That is the risk the company is willing to take.

The MLBPA has to do the deals.

After the first season most the positions are filled by the fake managers and coaches anyways. Why waste the money for the real ones when they can give it to some extra former players?
-
I know how capitalism works and how it’s ruined just about everything and will continue to.
But when their customers are just like “oh it’s ok, it’s business, we just aren’t going to get those things anymore” that’s when these companies become even more complacent and don’t do anything year to year like we see now.
This community specifically has had some of the biggest simps for a gaming company I’ve ever seen and this year has shown them take full advantage of that. I at least see SOME push back this year, but previous years it was almost all defending SDS on every social media platform out there.
There’s no reason to defend them. We need to speak out if we want improvements otherwise they won’t do anything. As shown this year and like you said, they aren’t going to do it out of the kindness of their hearts or for the sake of just putting out a good product.

If it wasn't for capitalism, the game wouldn't exist.
I'm all for asking SDS to improve their game, but if you can't enjoy the game because a coach has a wrong name and number, then you're looking for reasons to be dissatisfied.

Exactly. Disliking the game because they have unrealistic foul ball rates vs real life. Or the game for idiotic lineup strategies and bullpen usage (pitchers coming in with 2 outs every single game). Not because they don’t haul around their huge face scan contraption around the country or pay random coaches who are all vanished from the game after 1 season.

Who said they can’t enjoy the game because of the lack of coaches?

My thing is that they used to do it. I'm not saying I'm annoyed by something that never existed. I'm just saying that I notice the difference and it kinda makes the experience not as cool to me. And, if it is just a legal issue... let the coaches be editable. That would solve the issue without asking them to dive into profits. Seems like a logical solution to me. -

If they let you edit the managers and coaches then you put them in there without paying them and stream franchise games and voila there they are without their permission.

This almost made me spit out my coffee.
I'm glad it made you laugh.

Pretty soon we'll have someone argue the game lacks immersion because they can't add Angel Hernandez into the game to make bad calls
-
No, this is just you trying to downplay this.
Having head coaches/managers in the game has been around for decades at this point.
You want to justify them regressing in that aspect, go ahead.
-
No, it's me trying to be a smart___, since you fail to listen to the actual reason explained by others.
I've actually provided feedback to SDS that I'd like to see them expand the impact of the owner, GM and manager by adding personality traits for each that affect team budget, team expectations, amount of trading, lineup construction, bench player usage, etc. If that comes with having the actual manager's name and image...great, but the personality trait affecting aspects of the game adds way more depth than a name and image. And there are about 20-30 other things I'd like to see SDS improve before they consider this suggestion.

Tell them to play MVP Baseball 2005 then.
