I’m one of the few that’s happy about this actually. I have a full squad of basically prospects and the FOTF FS (Moncada, Albies) it’s kept things interesting for me. I’d be tired of the same old LS cards by now and same old legend cards.
I’ve welcomed this change.

Exactly. I don’t understand why people are upset about usable new cards. I for one don’t really feel like using the same players I’ve been using for the last 3 years. Id rather use a card and get excited about watching the dude next year than use another card of a guy I never saw play and never will.

I'm totally cool with all of it. The unexpected Covid crisis has lead to a year where we obviously know their attention is headed towards the next gen console (as it should be) and I kind of like the parade of recycled fan favorites from years past. This twist is cool and, why the hell not?

Because we were led to believe that the diamond prospects were the best cards those players were going to get, especially because there’s a whole collection. Now we get new versions of the same players within like a month for no reason? It’s lazy and scummy, and many people would prefer actual real flashbacks.
-
I think a set called Rising Stars would have been better, it could have included guys that are already establishing themselves, but still have ceiling, like Alvarez, McNeil, Jimenez, K Tucker, Urias, just to name a few.

Sure and even like a Gleyber boss for collecting X "future stars".

I wouldn't have gotten that Gore card if I knew these cards would be coming out, I'd having finished the AL if I didn't lock in Keller, Bohm, Waters, and Kopech

Who told you that? Why does everyone want the same cards from years prior. These FS cards and TA cards increase diversity options. Madrigal's 86 had been a stud, I'll gladly take a 95 version now ️

Nobody wants the same cards every year, but we don’t want multiple cards of the same player for no reason. It might not have been as egregious if they released them towards the end of the year, but we’ve only had the full prospect set for a couple weeks. Why have people lock in prospect cards without even telling us that they’re all going to be replaced by new versions of the same players soon after?
Kinda pathetic that you’re defending this tbh.

the prospect and future stars cards are cool, especially early in the cycle while useable with other cards since there’s not a lot of SS cards or pitching.
as a buccos fan we only have hope of a prospects “what if” until we ruin or trade them so getting keller, cruz and whoever is next is fun while they’re somewhat useable -
if you hate future stars you hate bat flips too

not like those prospect cards below 90 overall are usable anyway

But why do we need 95 overall cards of the same players a couple weeks later? It’s not like we’re at the end of the year or something. The prospect cards were still very much usable for a lot of people.
Not to mention if you locked them in for Franco, only to find out they literally have zero use now.

I think the biggest thing that irks players is that the game is broken, yet they still have time to pump out money making cards, free cards that you kind to have to pay for if you go the showdown route, but are absolutely silent on the state of the gameplay.
Idk about anyone else, but I'd rather have the game play properly rather than shiny new cards every five minutes.

Yeah, I would love this since Prospects and Future Stars is basically the same set of players.
I mean, I could probably make an easy pick for each team, too:
Angels - David Fletcher or Griffin Canning
Astros - Yordan Alvarez or Josh James
Athletics - Ramon Laureano or Frankie Montas
Blue Jays - Lourdes Gurriel, Bo Bichette, or Cavan Biggio
Braves - Mike Soroka or Dansby Swanson
Brewers - Keston Hiura or Brandon Woodruff
Cardinals - Tommy Edman or Giovanny Gallegos
Cubs Willson Contreras or David Bote
Diamondbacks - Zac Gallen or Tim Locastro
Dodgers - Will Smith or Julio Urias
Giants - Mike Yastrzemski or Dereck Rodriguez
Indians - Oscar Mercado, Shane Bieber, or Mike Clevinger
Mariners - Mitch Haniger or Yusei Kikuchi
Marlins - Caleb Smith or Miguel Rojas
Mets - Seth Lugo or J.D. Davis
Nationals - Victor Robles or Trea Turner
Orioles - John Means or Hanser Alberto
Padres - Chris Paddack or Emilio Pagan
Phillies - Scott Kingery or Zack Wheeler
Pirates - Bryan Reynolds, Kevin Newman, Jameson Taillon
Rangers - Willie Calhoun or Jose Leclerc
Rays - Brandon Lowe, Tyler Glasnow, or Nick Anderson
Red Sox - Andrew Benintendi or Eduardo Rodriguez
Reds - Luis Castillo or Nick Senzel
Rockies - David Dahl or Jon Gray
Royals - Hunter Dozier or Jorge Soler
Tigers - Spencer Turnbull or Joe Jimenez
Twins Jose Berrios, Max Kepler, Jorge Polanco, or Taylor Rogers
White Sox - Lucas Giolito, Tim Anderson, or Eloy Jimenez
Yankees - Luis Severino or Gio Urshela -

No. Only people who feel that way don’t understand content and gameplay are two separate things.
And you make back more than your stubs spent in showdown. Not to mention the ton of XP that gets you closer to more stubs and rewards.
