Stub sale stinks SDS
-
Not doing us a favor. Ohtani and Judge just went up in price even more. What’s the point?
-
They went up cuz stub prices went down. They might recover after the sale is over

Nothing is gonna change with this game until people just stop buying stubs or purchasing the game altogether. I’m getting tired of playing 30 minutes and only getting 1.5-2.5k XP. My job is stressful enough every day for long hours to keep playing this game without having fun and not getting my time compensated for enough. Other than money, I just don’t understand why SDS is trying so hard to alienate their player base. They used not to be like this. Someone different is calling the shots and pointing them in a different direction.

Profit over customer service.
In the nutshell, that's what's going on with SDS. Eventually, enough customers grow unhappy that sales suffer and the title become unprofitable. That said, Sony calls the shots here, through their Sony Interactive Entertainment division. My guess is that SIE would sooner sell off the pieces of SDS than infuse them with sufficient operating capital to hire the code team needed to upgrade the game, or even conduct necessary alpha testing prior to release.
So, the title just plods along with minor changes to the degree that most of them are merely changes in terms and menus, and SDS cannot even get revised menus correct -- as evidenced by the menu's crashing and causing inordinate delays in MLB 26.

It’s true, a lot of the phrases they used to preach are gone as well. “The best cards need to be earned not purchased” isn’t something you hear anymore. Somewhere in the company someone else was put in charge and changed the direction.
They are now praying on the small percentage that buy stubs like most gotcha games. It’s not about getting 50$ from 100,000 people. It’s a lot easier getting 1000$ from 5000 people.

Yep it’s becoming a very niche game. New players may hang around for a year or 2 if they are comparing it to being abused by other sports titles but soon enough they wise up and see it for what it is.
Long time players of the show, like myself, see the massive decline and are likely stepping away for good. It’s sad but I guess it was inevitable that eventually the game would join the others in profits above all else.
Just look at the number of cards earned in programs vs pack cards and the demolition of TA to sell more pack cards. It’s plain as day.

@TripleH-4481_PSN there is someone new in charge over there. Has to be. The decline of this game over the past two years cannot be explained by anything else. Some greedy yes man corporate life scum bag is now running the show.
-
Stubs sales just dilute the value of stubs and raise costs.
-
Why would I buy stubs if everything you can buy with them is just being gate kept by bots? The days of buying stubs ended when bots became the only ones selling on the community market. I don't even play Diamonds Dynasty mode anymore because of the bots.
-
Totally agree. It’s turned into EA/2K lite.
-
@TripleH-4481_PSN it really has. Even down to the mechanisms in the game. Everything feels harsh and stiff. Trying to prevent us from accumulating stats. When all most of us want to do is play a fun game. They are monetizing every aspect of the game.
-
Yep and when their only defense is that it’s still so much better than Madden I’m done listening to anything further they have to say.
Comparing the current state of this game to its previous versions is the only valid comparison. It’s apples and oranges. Fact is, this game was great just a few years ago and now it’s a pathetic shell of itself.
