How did NMS players complete the live collection?

I got lucky and pulled Ohtani on Easter with my son. Saved enough to buy Judge when he was around 425k. Got super lucky and pulled him not long after. They were my big 2. Others I bought, except for a few 30-50k guys.

How did you collect Shohei and Judge when they're like both over 1 Mil combined?
I'll be up front with you. You need to do one of these things:
Flip
10 win BR runs
spend money
Get extremely lucky with pack pulls and pull Judge and/or OhtaniI have around 225 hours in the game and grinded mini seasons a ton in the first 3 weeks. I am still at least 850k from LS collection. I stopped grinding mini seasons because I was averaging maybe 5k per run. Haven't checked in a bit but I think Ohtani is around 750k. At 5k per run, you would need to do 150 runs just for Ohtani. I literally gave up on mini seasons because when you pull a 3k diamond and need 750k it is just flat demoralizing. Even if you pull a Skenes, you would need to pull him around 12 times. What are the odds of that? I would think the odds to pull a Chase pack are far greater and I only pull chase packs a few times a year and usually toward the end of the year which means that card is useless by then both from a stub and playability aspect. I did the A.L. but have no intention of going after the N.L. unless I pull a Judge and/or Ohtani. It just takes too long to get to the 750k for Ohtani without them especially if you can't pull rare round or chase cards when they come out.

@LuvMyXBOX_XBL I have put the Live Series on the back burner because I figure I'll get Ohtani much cheaper later if I don't draw him. In the meantime I can use stubs to finish other collections.

@LuvMyXBOX_XBL I finished the live series in the first week of April. Sold everything not at quicksell value. Sold every live series diamond under 90 until I had every 90+. Placed 20 buy orders for every silver. Did silver to gold exchange: 3-79’s and 1-78 until I run out of 79’s. Then, 4-78’s and 1-77 until I run out of 78’s. Then 6-77’s until out of 77’s. Then, either 2-75’s and 6-76’s or 2-76’s and 7-75 until I’m out of all silvers. Open gold packs, sell golds for profit. Repeat.
I bought the most expensive guys first because they go up over time. Bought Ohtani around 530k and Judge around 350k. Then, the rest of the 90+. Then, the rest of the diamonds based on which collections I could finish. By this time, most non diamonds were at quicksell value.

If you're willing to skip buying any collection cards, live series is doable pretty early. I prefer to play along with the game with collections - so I have chipper, mantle, miggy, etc. If I took the money I spent there and just saved it, I'd have Judge and Ohtani.
Or, the other way is get lucky and draw ohtani or judge in a pack (which I havent).

@LuvMyXBOX_XBL pulled 2 ohtani’s and flipped a lot like a lot. So basically flipping and pack luck are the only ways NMs players can do this.

100% agree with this and I burned out on mini seasons after countless times of getting next to nothing in the 10 pack bundle. The best diamond I pulled all year was skenes about 2 weeks in and since then nothing for like 2 months. It’s deflating and enough to make me want to walk away for good. Normally I grind and flip but with both of those feeling pointless I’m pretty close to stopping altogether.

I’m close on chipper, mantle, Ramirez, and 99 miggy but nowhere close on live series. Still missing 11 diamonds including the big 2 with horrendous pack pulls all year.
I’m not spending 1.3 million on judge and Ohtani and would rather just play along with the weekly drops. Live series is complete bs at this point. Normally I’d flip but that’s dead too so if this is how the game is going to be then I will play the programs as they release and not waste my time grinding to get the cards completely out of reach.

The amount of you that grind mini seasons is mind boggling lmao. You are willing to put yourselves through hours and hours of boredom to complete live series, for some fake virtual cards. I think you guys are the issue and why sds doesnt change. No way should you have to play the same boring thing over and over a 1000 times to progress in a game. But you all do you. I played through the mural mini season twice yesterday and was so over it. The cpu barely even throws you strikes, everything is a dot. You guys are insane. Why does sds need to be creative, when they know you morons will play through mini seasons a million times. If this made you mad I dont care get at me.

Boring is your impression with miniseasons(nothing wrong with that) but the ones that spam it like playing the MS games and have (at least a little bit)of fun with it.

@PAinPA_PSN yeah to each their own. Thats fine. Still insane. My honest opinion is sds isnt offering enough for people to go online. So thats what's left. But its a problem. At least they did the multi player wheel spin. So in this aspect I cant really blame the offline players for not going online. But I can blame them for allowing zero creativity by doing the same thing over and over.

That said... I'm only two cards away: Judge and Ohtani
. So... about 1.3 million stubs. I'm focusing on other collections at this point, as those will be worth more to me than Tulo, Felix and Pujols (and Manny, Dustin, Nettles, etc.). -

Played a lot of mini seasons and got really lucky with the pulls. Didn’t pull Shohei until I had the collection done, so that enabled me to complete the others

It’s a big issue and just goes to show that the game has gone off the rails. If the rewards are so minimal that it requires extreme grinding, cheating, or swiping the credit card then something is very wrong. It’s driving “normal/casual” players away big time.

I guess I'm technically not NMS as I buy the Jackie Robinson bundle thing every year which gives like 5k stubs so that's my strategy lol All joking aside I got some blue diamond luck early on the year (no judge or ohtani) but I pulled witt skubal ketel and a few others and sold them and saved until I could afford shohei first because I figured I'd use Manny, campenella, and eventually pujols more than I'd use any of the al rewards and I flipped bosses and affordable diamonds during flash sales or when new content comes out with packs (like the 84 overall wbc cards that dropped to under 1k and I sold them all for 3-4k ish a couple of weeks later). Things like that added up then I sold multiplayer stuff etc and got judge like a week and change ago to finish off the collection. Despite the hate I did a lot of mini seasons too but did way better than 5k/run. I did a lot of new threads on rookie that gives BIAH packs for striking out 80 I think it is and that's like 5 packs each run I think mixed with the other missions. Now if you're good enough I'd be doing diamond quest for the mural. I've been pretty lucky on that and it was over 30k/run if you get both. The floor is bad though. I usually gamble and face the thing that moves around the board for the 5 packs lol. I usually get lucky and win like 1-0 or 2-1
