Backfoot sliders
-
Does anybody hit the backfoot slider/sweeper well? Has it replaced inside sinker for the meta go-to pitch? I used to just ignore these pitches - they were usually balls. But, you get clipped so often with the new strike zone.
I've even gone into practice mode to try to time them, and a lot of really good swings are still outs.
It feels like you just have to wait for poor control to leave one low middle, which will be jacked to the moon. Low middle is a worse spot than middle-middle, lol

Backfoot slider is a legit pitching strategy though, it's by design to use your eyes against you. I get the frustration, because I fall prey to it as well.

Chris Sale has been so successful because of the movement on his sliders, just brutal for hitters. Don't feel bad. If he hangs it, crush it

Yeah, the new strike zone is what makes it tough. It didn't seem viable to me before the new zone. Even if you put a pretty good swing on it, you dont usually get rewarded.

Please explain "back-foot slider".
Is that when you outch inside and the slider just clips the lower inside part of the plate?
Instead of pitching away from the batter?

@x-814-x-MAFIA-x_PSN so basically what u wanna do is have ur pitch start around the bottom right corner and break towards the “back foot” of the batter where the name comes from. in game it is very effective as it tricks the eyes and darts at the back foot last min. So for example I would want my par basically just barely touching the zone and most of it outside low and in as it’s a “chase pitch” ur not rly hoping to clip the zone this is a complete wipe out swing and miss pitch. Very effective against these 9 switch hitter demon teams.

Backfoot Sliders is such a beautiful name. More people should name their kids that

So if I'm pitching to a left handed batter; I want to to start in the lower left of the strike zone so it breaks from right (toes) to left (heel)?

Up until i was 8; i thought my name was "@$$hole".
Cause it was always "@$$hole" this or "@$$hole" that.

yeah, it's the meta darling when facing an opposite-side hitter - but if you do clip the very corner of zone, that's pretty effective too

@AppleLemon560_MLBTS plays rly nice off up and it cutters that just miss the zone.
