I can't believe they're using a pitcher off the bench. they must be saving their other players for later(no matter what pinch hitter you use)

Hasn't been my experience.
Also, I don't think they use interns.
I do think the janitor does help out when he isn't cleaning tho.

In the earlier days of MLB the show and when the NL made pitchers hit, the CPU properly pinch hit the pitcher during important situations with position players.
