Bring Back Old Strike Zone
-
The strike zone is still the same as before. Its just a visual change. If a pitch was a strike before its still a strike now, if a pitch was a ball before its still a ball now.
-
It has made me better against the inside Cutter.
The Splitter is still my Kryptonite, though. I despise that pitch, lol. At least 'against.'
Pitching-wise, it's great! -
no, the new strike zone makes you better.
Agreed, it's made me more patient at the plate. Taught me to work walks and that strikeouts are not necessarily a bad thing especially with a man on first with less than 2 outs. A lot of times with 1 out a man on first if the ball isn't down the middle I'll take the strikeout to stay out of a doubleplay.. Usually I do a lot damage with 2 outs they are more apt to theow it over the plate than then to nibble.
-
Also noticed I am getting more gap shots and singles and not homering 10 times a game. It feels more like baseball and less arcadic.

Pitching-wise, it's great!I hate the splitter. If it's up in the zone I can crush it, down around the knees dropping out of the zone forget about it, the spectators are feeling the breeze of my bat swinging through hopefully making contact with a mosquito because it sure isn't making contact with the ball

Change up for me...It looks like a juicy meatball and then the bottom just falls right out of it. It's also my humble opinion they gave changeups WAY too much vertical break, but I still gotta hit or lay off the d@mn thing.
-
@LIONED-33_XBL it does it forces u to have much more of an approach at the plate. And as pitcher it combats how op hitting was.
I must not be a good pitcher as I'm getting hit left and right.

The only time I go after a change up if it starts up out of the zone then I will know it will be somewhere in the middle of the zone. It it starts im the zone, no bueno for the worms. Probably my second least favorite pitch

@x-814-x-MAFIA-x_PSN the key is to try and not get the ball in the zone but just glance the zone. mistakes will happen but live on the black and u should be fine.
-
@allday9128_PSN I mean it’s more than just a visual change lol the box disappears and no you have to protect more. I have gotten used to it but it’s more than just a visual change.
-
@ApolloZ_99_MLBTS my approach has been the same in this game as it was in real life and it has worked for me for years look to attack look for a “damage pitch” sit on the pitcher making a mistake in ur wheelhouse and when u get to 2 strikes and be tough with 2 and battle.
-
When I began playing this game back in 2015 it was rip city!!! Every game was a slugfest! It was so much fun!! Now…..it’s abysmal. It’s turned me into an offline player.
-
@platewelder_363_MLBTS I can’t speak on that part I was still to young rly for diamond dynasty I was on the franchise mode and rtts at that time.
first dd was 2018. -
@ApolloZ_99_MLBTS 100% false. It’s the same strike zone size. That’s why all this complaining is hilarious. They shrunk the visual of the strike zone to accommodate the new ABS-type zone. So that pitch that now just grazes the zone for a strike would’ve previously been 50/50 on the black for a strike in the old version.

Probably doesnt help that I use Meter pitching.
-
tear4eddy_PSN it’s not the same. And I wasn’t complaining. It really doesn’t make sense to say they shrunk something and say it’s only a visual change. If you change the size it’s more than just a visual.

It’s literally just a visual change. The same balls are being called balls and the same strikes are being called strikes. Now the strike zone just actually lineups to what was already being called.
-
@ApolloZ_99_MLBTS It’s not more than a visual change. The same pitches that were balls are balls and the same pitches that were strikes are still strikes.

What exactly do you think changed that isn’t visual?
-
@GoozeFn_PSN the actual itself is smaller and disappears. You can’t say the same pitches that were balls are balls or vice versa. Almost every ball is now a strike. It has also changed the dynamic of gameplay On both hitting and pitching. It’s has been a good change tbh. I have adapted but to say it’s just a visual change is just ridiculous.
