Track pitches without getting… Crosseyed?
-
How do yall generally do this? I typically try to focus on the top of the pitchers cap, then using my peripherals, I track, and hit. However, find myself getting crosseyed most of the time. When I don’t, I’m able to square up the ball, when I do, looks like I’m a little leaguer hitting against Skenes. Any tips? Any different way you guys track pitches?

@SpecialFrosty_PSN this is a really great question. I have a method that works really well one day out of every two weeks....lol
Stare intently at the top two-thirds of strike zone like you're staring at one of those magic 3d pictures. When ball releases, move your eyes behind pitchers head. If you dont think its in the top two-thirds of zone, dont swing (maybe get a bit looser with two strikes).
When this works, its awesome. For the next several days, it stinks. Your eyes can't be tired to pull it off - they have to be super alert.

@SpecialFrosty_PSN Focus on the pitchers release point and track from there.

Along with what everyone else said, cut the plate in half until 2 strikes. If you get your pitch inside/outside, high/low, swing away. If not, just take.

I used to think about it. Now I just recognize the pitch and go after it. Took me a few years to get to this point but I just clear my head and hit now.

On a Saturday I find if you drink enough beer by 11:00 AM you just sell the ball better
You stop thinking and you just keep cracking
