the color pallete was much richer and vibrant in the older games. Since 23/24, the game colors have been dulled.

Any idea why this was done? If anything gameplay has gotten glitchier, most mlb stadiums are unplayable which is ridiculous for an MLB game, and hair physics basically broke the game.

@TripleH-4481_PSN yeah I don't know. I'm just a big fan but also I've been playing 21 for the last 2 days. Really plays a lot better. If you ask me it seems like the color in the jerseys grass. Everything kind of just pops out better. I mean I've had the same TV for 7 years, but still this game just looks a little bit better. The grass looks better. It's darker. Greener jerseys are darker with you know grass and dirt stains. The commentary is better. It has vascargen and the other guy as well

I play it purely because I want to vibe to Shot In The Dark by AC/DC.

Totally agree. I started DD in 2020 and I recently went back and played them. The colors were much more fleshed out and there wasn’t super diving or super dotting. The game was challenging but not ridiculous. Really confused why someone thought let’s make the colors worse, introduce Superman dives and super dots because people love facing that garbage. That will surely make people want to play more.

You can't take shortcuts on a game engine—these are intricate systems. They can't just be ported over; they needed a refresh after the PS5 and Series X. But executives who know very little about programming decided it would be too expensive, so the PS2 engine was ported over to another console, and now everyone is stuck with this mediocre product.

A new management team was brought it and they stopped giving a [censored]. Remember back when the game was on PS3 , PS4, and early PS5/XB, the game had the reputation for being second to none in terms of quality and excellence? MLBTS series was considered the top tier of videogame development not just for sports games but for all games. The game would win yearly awards and it would make a joke out of other sports titles like Madden, FIFA, 2K, etc...
That went south when this new team took over. They're learning on the job and we're suffering for it. To their credit, I do think 26 is the best one since 21, but it's still nowhere close to the impeccable quality of those earlier games I mentioned. For example, why do we still have a black random line that appears across the faces of the players in 26? Little errors like that you would never find in the older games. And if they did happen, the previous team would fix that ASAP never to be seen again. We've had that black line in what, the last 2 to 3 games now?

Agree with everything you said except 26 being the best game in a while. In many ways I think it’s the worst since 18. Is it a coincidence that both games with Judge on the cover are hot garbage?

I don't think it's judge's fault. I think his marketing I mean this game is decent. It's okay is not great. I do like the fact that roaches show. Now you have reasons to play goals what not ways of progress. But still I mean in my eyes diamond diocese broken. The commentary is repetitive so much. I don't know why they can't patch a commentary like NBA, 2K or even in soccer. You can choose multiple commentators in soccer. That's pretty cool. I think they should do the same thing here as well. You have a whole season. You can get guest commentary rookies players of the week. What not you can get MVPs or All Stars at the All-Star breaks and commentary. Just something small would make this game a lot better. Also a massive patch for online play online play. My eyes was best at 01 or 02
