    Didn’t even know this was an option - thanks!

    How do you find it goes with check swings - seems with X sometimes I put my finger through it and it calls it a check swing, other times all I have to do is think about pressing it and it calls it a swing. This has been the case for years for me. And it’s not dependent on which player either - I’ve exclusively played RTTS this year.

    If R2 is more consistent I’m making the switch immediately!

    Why R2 and not back paddle? I’ve tried r2 back paddle but went back to x as my brain is wired for that button better. Even if the remote response time is slightly better my response time with those other buttons is worse so it cancels out any benefit. I would find with those other buttons would be slightly lifting my finger before pressing and that made me late. Also it’s impossible to check swing w back paddle and I think r2

    Checked swings are better with R2. I programmed the back paddle for new R2 functions. I was a little better using R2 for swing than the back paddle. Something for people to try out and see if there’s a benefit. You might like it or your brain may not lol. I was seeing faster response times

    @Onix_Savage22_PSN Yes. It is basically a function of the controller that you can reprogram the buttons. It certainly can help disabled people or people with missing digits. I think they are referring to the $200 controller called the edge but there should be an option within the game to select alternative settings.

    @GoozeFn_PSN
    I am fairly certain you can but I am away from my console. Go to settings and see if there is a section for controls.

    @Onix_Savage22_PSN if you want to reprogram buttons you going to need the dual sense edge. Also if your playing on a tv not hardwired, that would be the first thing to address otherwise your timing is always going to suck no matter the controller. This game requires a monitor to be competitive at the very least

    I have the regular PS5 duel sense controller and you can program your keys but it is done on the PS5 and will change the position for anything you do. I has helped my hitting for sure but it has caused me pitching problems because I am not use to it.
    To change button assignments on a PS5, navigate to Settings > Accessibility > Controllers > Custom Button Assignments. You can enable custom assignments, remap buttons (like L1/R1, L2/R2, and face buttons), and select "Apply". This works for standard DualSense, DualSense Edge, and DualShock 4 controllers.
