Market Bots
-
There are a dozen ways SDS could combat the problem. If the store went down theyd devote every resource on the planet to fix it within minutes. Market bots have gotten incrementally worse for years and SDS has not fixed it. Clearly they either can't or aren't even trying.
-
I noticed 2 bots in a bidding war to sell an item and have been keeping a left eye on it. It's going down by about 1-2 stubs per second as they replace each others bids. Maybe SDS servers would have less issues if bots weren't placing dozens of orders per second on the market.
-
You have to "screw the bots over". Drive the price down as low as the bot bids, or up if buying obviously. Force it to either sell way too low or buy way too high. Then put your bid in right after back at original spot. Sometimes I sit there and just mess with the bots forcing them to buy or sell for no profit. Since you know we arent gonna get help elswhere

@ChuckCLC_PSN Not all heroes wear capes my guy.
-
ANYTHING with a reasonable margin these bots are on them. Put in an order and its already been out bid when the screen changes.
-
Pardon the interruption @manu__sds_mlbts but would you be so kind as to inquire with the devs at SDS as to when they will have a solution for the marketplace bots?
Otherwise, im gonna go ahead and program one myself since yall seem to be perfectly fine with their existence.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. AJW

@ChuckCLC_PSN I've tried this method and after a while the bot keeps going up by 1 on its own order. This is a insane.
-
This is a joke, something so simple just gets swept under the rug..
-
At what point do we speculate it’s sds just killing margins to eliminate the flipping market as much as possible?
-
@Pigsooie-Nation_MLBTS I've been wondering the same and potentially worse. Back in 2021, EA got in hot water over an employee selling high end cards for cash in FIFA. Feel free to google this.
-
There was a twitter post from a creator this morning showing a macro running a system that was “exclusively selling dupe items.” You’re a fool to believe they aren’t ravaging the market making millions…. If you run the margin down to a certain point where the bot won’t tail anymore and buy them down but you then run the risk of margins sliding further and having several of a now worthless item.
-
@Pigsooie-Nation_MLBTS 100% they do not want people flipping. Which is why they implemented the 20 card limit. Flipping = less people shoveling them actual cash for stubbs.

Hey folks,
The team is aware of this and looking into it.
To clear up any confusion, yes, bots break ToS.

Thank you for pulling me into this thread, I recently started working on some anti-bot strategies.
Personally, I would avoid reCAPTCHA as I believe it would negatively affect honest users...
I am confident we can mitigate this issue, but we are surely against a phenomenon that continues to gain momentum.I encourage you submit investigation tips to my DMs to help gather information on 3rd parties like CENSORED.

Thank you for the reply. I can try doing some screen recordings to show the instantaneous nature of the bots at work in the market.
Also, I would edit out the X reference. We dont need to be giving tips for more market manipulation lol

I’ve noticed the bots aren’t smart enough to relist when I cancel orders. So you can force them to take a loss but eventually they will win because I’m wasting my time.
