I’m finally caving

I’ve tried being optimistic I’ve tried to be positive but man this game is starting to bring back anger issues I have not shown in years and it’s not even the server issues at this point it’s the fact that this games ranked takes absolutely zero skill like it rly feels like sds flips a coin before every ranked game I play to see who they are gonna let win im so sick of giving up 5 runs a inning with zero hits over 75 mph but I will piece up 4 balls at 100mph plus and maybe one will fall I have hit a all time low in ranked and rly have no idea what to do anymore the rookie mini seasons probably aren’t helping me but my god I don’t know what to do anymore I usally never see 450 rating after night one I usally sit around 700-800 and here I am at 455 yet I’m “out hitting” my opponent in the part of the game that takes skill which is hard hit balls and this is not only a me problem my friend is also just done with this game because he normally sits around 900-1000 and he’s down at 700 and he literally sent me a video of him losing a game on a triple play line driver off the pitchers head caught and threw out his 2 runners who just ran off contact with 0 outs I just don’t know what to do anymore sorry for the rant and long read I just had to get this off my chest
-
Like this is the only baseball kick I get and baseball is basically my life unfortunately I work a heavy work load job and can’t play anymore I’m one year out from playing and am having a very hard time accepting that as I’m only in my young 20s but even playing real baseball I haven’t been this mad since u11 im starting to think I may need a break from this game but I have a very love hate relationship with it my love for baseball is just to much to put this aside
-
It might be an unpopular opinion but I like the game how it is this year. I agree losing games when you are making better contact than your opponent is frustrating but it happens. Even IRL it happens on a frequent basis but in the long run you’ll win more games than you lose when making more hard contact than your opponent. You just need to try and have fun and not take the game so serious
-
@Good-Talk-Bud_XBL yeah my competitive energy is just rly coming out right now and as somebody who play baseball at a high level for 15 years I get perfect pieced up line outs happen and bloops happen and on positive note as a whole I like the game the realism factor was nailed this year just wish it didn’t feel like sds is praying on my downfall every ranked game I load into lol
-
@Onix_Savage22_PSN maybe stop saying pieced up and it'll work better
-
@Stinkysman77_MLBTS sorry just much easier then saying perfect perfect
-
@Onix_Savage22_PSN sounds goofy
-
@Stinkysman77_MLBTS what would u rather have me say funny that’s ur one takeaway from that whole thing ur definitely the kinda guy that says perfect perfect on a real baseball field

-
@Onix_Savage22_PSN not sure what I say..I'll take note of it and get back to you ...I definitely know I don't say pieced up though
-
@Stinkysman77_MLBTS fair I wasn’t rly thinking about what I say till u pointed it out

-
@Onix_Savage22_PSN lol to each his own...I just thought it sounded goofy... I'm sure I say plenty that people think the same
-
@Stinkysman77_MLBTS fair no hate u could have just saved future me from sounding like a idiot

I've kinda given up online play in sports games. The individual connection online plays such a big roll in the outcomes, even when it's not that noticeable, that it's not worth the frustration. One day I may bite the bullet and get a separate online set up just for gaming and direct line it to my PS5. Additionally, while I love the Show, historically this game does not reward patience and timing at the plate and all to often batting feels random. I simply enjoy grinding the programs offline now and Mini Seasons.
-
Step away from the game, relax. Everything will be ok.
-
@Jisaksen2422_MLBTS yeah I’ve just been listing to jomboy podcast so far today getting excited for mlb season to start tonight may get on later to check new threads content but will steer away from online for a bit if I do play will be mini seasons

Cause youre in your early 20s. When I was early 20s I got mad easily about everything too
The game doesn't matter and you won't remember none of these dumb games a few weeks from now.
I used to protect my ranked record. Last year I was like 36-6 or something and made world series.
This year I've started out 2-2. One game I lost like 12-11 in extras and a routine double play that would've ended the inning (went right under ss glove) ended up becoming a Kyle schwarber grand slam. Schwarber had to have fouled off like 8 pitches and then I threw a sweeper with good input that went pretty much right down the middle. I likely should've won the game without thst chain of events but nobody cares abiut my record and I won't care.
Its understandable the game makes you mad but when you step back you realize it's kind've broken and you will quickly forget the results of these insignificant games once you leave to do other things
-
@Onix_Savage22_PSN, without addressing the rest of the post, why are you so quick to think you won't play real baseball again? If you want to, there's usually a way... might not be super competitive, but I started again in my 30's playing in men's rec leagues. Had a blast playing hardball until I was about 35...
-
@The_Joneser_PSN fair I maybe able to play again it definitely won’t be at the level I was it will probably be a men’s leauge or smt at and with my job it is very hard I work construction and my shift are usally 7-7 give or take sometimes a little shorter sometimes a little longer maybe if I find a job with more outside of work freedom I could I rly didn’t think I was ready to give it up but being out of school for a cpl years I was kinda talking into seeking a better job as I was only working a fast food job through end of high school and first few years after and I had to sadly sacrifice baseball as it wasn’t working with my work load and how physically demanding it is I would play again in a heart beat if the opportunity presents itself
-
Especially with the provincial level I was playing it I tried balancing both when I started the new job and found myself missing practices games etc and just decided it wasnt possible atleast for now
-
@Onix_Savage22_PSN, yeah, that's tough... we do what we need to do, but you might find that you get to come back to it years down the road. Might not be at the same level, but there's something to be said about picking it back up, long after you convinced yourself you had to say goodbye to it.
I was slower, weaker, and had more trouble against softer stuff, but I loved being out there just as much as I ever had.
I hope you find your way back.
And try to keep your head on your shoulders when you play these video games
