Need help with Baserunning in Moments in MLB 26

I cannot figure out how to advance my baserunner beyond first base in moments. When I hit the ball in the gap the runner always stops at first. I would appreciate advice on how to make it work. Last year I simply used the left stick.

Use one stick to control the camera/view and the other to point to the base you want to go to...point at the base from the perspective of your player, not "up for second" all the time.

I use the analog stick for base running in player lock, there is a setting for it but I can't remember if analog is the default or if I had to change to it
