Feedback From a Longtime Player
-
I will attempt to keep this as respectful and positive when providing feedback.
**Best Feature
- The NLB inclusion is easily the best addition to the game, and has been since it was introduced in '23. It’s brief but packed with meaningful stories and information, and is always extremely well done.
Gameplay Improvements Needed
- Gameplay is still solid and looks good overall.
- However, it’s 2026, not 2006—motion capture technology has improved a lot.
- Batting stances, follow-throughs, and pitching motions should look much more lifelike.
Visuals
- The visuals aren’t bad, but they feel like an afterthought.
- Many players look too similar.
- Lighting and skin textures are behind what you’d expect from a modern AAA game. Not expecting a brand new engine in 9 months, but it's time to make a jump visually.
- The overall presentation needs to improve.
Marketing & Game Direction
- Marketing seems focused on short-form, TikTok-style promotion.
- It’s unclear who the game is really targeting as an audience. Is it for the younger or older demographic, hoping '27 has a more balanced, sensible direction when attempting to sell the game.
Game Features
- The addition of the WBC is nice.
- However, if it’s a major selling point, it shouldn’t be restricted to Diamond Dynasty.
- It should also exist in head-to-head or franchise (even as a fictional version).
Road to the Show (RTTS)
- The updates are okay.
- But they don’t justify the price of a new game.
Development Priorities
- If NCAA licensing is consuming a large part of the yearly budget, it may be time to rethink that strategy.
- The game doesn’t seem to be progressing as much as it should.
Legends
- Legends are a nice addition.
- But they shouldn’t be the main selling point for a new release.
Hope I kept this simple, and hopefully next year SDS will hit one out of the park for 27.
-
WBC should be available in RTTS as well. I would love to have my player in it after getting drafted into MLB.

Gameplay is good? Yeah I checked out after that

Yeah, I always forget I've played this longer than some here have been alive. I've always enjoyed simulation-style gameplay and not super competitive. Yes, there are aspects that are good outside of the competitive style, which is bad in every game with DDA coding.

Are you talking about Diamond Dynasty or offline gameplay. To be honest both stink (veteran has you get dotted by Antonio Senzatela 2/3 times while Tarik Skubal might hang 4 heaters in a row on Hall of Fame). -
The focus on Negro Leagues is awesome. It'd be nice to be able to wear those types of uniforms for the MLB players of that era, of which they've been ignoring.
As far as visuals are concerned, check out ProSpirits by Konami, on Steam. It's free, and when us modders get to work on it, it'll leave The Slow in the dust.
